Stoke deal for Man City star is bad news for Berahino

Published:

It’s clear Wilfried Bony will be plying his trade away from the Etihad this season, having failed to register a single minute of playing time under new man City manager Pep Guardiola in the league so far. And now we know exactly where the Ivory Coast international will be heading – as he’s currently having a medical at Stoke City.

And once again, it looks as though another player has expressed his feelings regarding a transfer on Twitter. But while Berahino is one of the players concerned – it’s actually Bony who used social media on this occasion.

His tweet this morning only added fuel to an already-blazing fire, suggesting that he was looking forward to an ‘exciting day ahead’…

And it appears the Potters’ summer-long wait for a new striker is finally over – at least temporarily – as Mark Hughes looks set to add Bony to his roster.

The Stoke boss had previously been linked with a £20m move for West Brom’s Saido Berahino but – as has often been the case with the Baggies when it comes to the sought after striker – the two clubs have failed to reach an agreement over a fee.

Though there is still plenty of time for Hughes to make a late move for Berahino as well, the deal to bring Bony to the Staffordshire club suggests the Baggies will be stuck with their striker until at least January.
