Preston v Liverpool betting tips: Klopp to rest stars for Deepdale duel
Published:Preston v Liverpool betting tips and odds
Liverpool make the short trip to Preston for a Carabao Cup fourth-round tie still on a high from Sunday’s sensational 5-0 win at arch rivals Manchester United.
The Reds are unbeaten in all competitions this season and 1/3 to reach the quarter-finals at the expense of their Championship rivals.
The Lilywhites are 8/1 to cause a shock on Wednesday but let’s check out some of the other markets in our Preston v Liverpool betting tips.
Match Odds
Boss Jurgen Klopp went with a second-string side for the 3-0 win at Norwich in round three but the likes of Curtis Jones, Ibrahima Konate and Naby Keita were included.
Konate and Keita were in the starting line-up at Old Trafford but Jones came on in the first half following an injury to James Milner.
Preston won low-key encounters with Mansfield, Morecambe and Cheltenham to reach this stage and are unbeaten at home since losing to Hull on the opening weekend of the season but this will be their toughest test even if Klopp picks a weakened team.

Liverpool are 27/20 to win to nil or 21/10 to triumph by at least three goals as they did at Carrow Road bearing in mind the Merseysiders have scored three or more in all eight games on the road in every competition this season.
Divock Origi is a likely starter for the Merseysiders and is 7/5 to score in an away win while Takumi Minamino is 13/8 in the same market.
Talking Tactics
Keita is almost certainly out having been stretchered off in the challenge that led to Paul Pogba being sent off after a VAR review on Sunday.
Milner sustained a hamstring injury in the same game so Klopp will need to rejig his midfield which is likely to include Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Origi led the line at Carrow Road where he was accompanied by Minamino and Kaide Gordon on the flanks in the usual 4-3-3 formation which could see Kostas Tsimikas and Joe Gomez in the back four.
Preston had midfielder Alan Browne sent off in the closing stages of Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Blackpool so he is suspended.
Goalscorer Odds
Minamino scored the opener against Norwich and is 4/1 to break the deadlock or 11/8 to get on the scoresheet while Origi is 7/2 and 23/20 in the same markets having netted the second against the Canaries.
Oxlade-Chamberlain is 15/2 to net the opener or 5/2 to score and we go 7/2 and 11/10 on Sadio Mane, who came on for the last 15 minutes at Old Trafford.
Emil Riis Jakobsen is the hosts’ top scorer with nine goals this season and can be backed at 8/1 to draw first blood or 13/5 to find the net any time in our Preston v Liverpool betting tips.
