Ukraine v England betting tips: Destiny calling for Three Lions
Ukraine v England betting tips and preview
England’s 2-0 victory over Germany in the last 16 means they are the new 2/1 favourites to win Euro 2020 but they have to negotiate a quarter-final with Ukraine before they can start thinking about a first trophy in 55 years.
Ukraine needed a stoppage-time goal at the end of extra time from substitute Artem Dovbyk to secure a 2-1 victory over 10-man Sweden and set up the clash with England in Rome on Saturday night.
The Three Lions are 4/9 to pull through in 90 minutes as they did against Germany as we highlight some of the other odds and markets in our Ukraine v England betting tips.
Ukraine qualified for the knockout stage by the skin of their teeth having finished fourth in the list of the best third-placed teams with two defeats and one win from their three Group C games.
Andriy Shevchenko’s side are 15/2 to spring a surprise in the Italian capital but it should not be forgotten that they qualified for the tournament as group winners ahead of champions Portugal.
The Ukrainians lost a five-goal thriller against Netherlands and went down 1-0 to Austria in their final group game which meant they relied on Belgium beating Finland to secure a place in the last 16.

England represent their toughest test yet having kept clean sheets in all four matches and they are 21/20 to win to nil once again or 2/1 to win either 1-0 or 2-0 in the victory by under 2.5 goals market.
All three of England’s wins have been by one of those scorelines but we also go 10/11 on a win and under 3.5 goals.
Despite only winning once inside 90 minutes, Ukraine have scored two more goals than England and only Austria kept a clean sheet against them, so both teams to score is 5/4 and Gareth Southgate’s side to win by that method is 14/5.
For those who fancy England to concede in a high-scoring game, the Three Lions to win or draw, both teams to score in the second half and over 2.5 goals in the match is available at 9/2.
Southgate switched to a three-man defence for the win against Germany with Harry Maguire, John Stones and Kyle Walker keeping the visitors at bay, although Jordan Pickford had to make a couple of excellent saves and Thomas Muller also missed a one-on-one following a loose pass from Raheem Sterling.
Skipper Harry Kane finally got off the mark despite another quiet display and he is expected to lead the line in a 3-4-3 formation.
Jack Grealish sparked England into life with a 20-minute cameo role and he had a hand in both goals so he could start at the expense of Bukayo Saka, who faded in the second half after a bright opening 45 minutes.
Ukraine deployed a 3-5-2 against Sweden with Roman Yaremchuk and Andriy Yarmolenko in attack but they will be without striker Artem Besedin, who sustained a knee injury in a high tackle from Marcus Danielson and was sent off as a consequence.
Sterling has scored three of England’s four goals, breaking the deadlock on each occasion, so we go 4/1 on the Manchester City winger to get the game’s first goal again or 2/1 just to score.
Yaremchuk and Yarmolenko, who have both scored twice at Euro 2020, are 10/1 to make the breakthrough or 9/2 to find the net while Dovbyk and Oleksandr Zinchenko are 9/2 and 9/1 to breach England’s defence having done so against Sweden.
