Fulham boss Slavisa Jokanovic odds-on in Premier League sack race
Published:
The Premier League sack race is hotting up, with Fulham manager Slavisa Jokanovic the new odds-on favourite to be the first manager to lose his job this season.
Our traders have chalked the Serbian chief up at 4/6 following the Cottagers’ 1-0 reverse to Huddersfield Town on Monday night.
That puts the Craven Cottage honcho comfortably ahead of closest rival Mark Hughes, who is available at 3/1 after Southampton’s 6-1 defeat to Manchester City.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is joined by Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino at 14/1, with Neil Warnock and Rafael Benitez back at 14/1.
Meanwhile, North-West pair Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola are currently considered the safest managers in the Premier League. The pair are 250/1 apiece to lose their jobs next.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s no surprise to see Jokanovic priced so short in the Sack Race. 29 goals conceded in 11 games simply isn’t good enough following a hectic summer of spending and as far as we’re concerned, the Fulham gaffer may as well start packing his bags.”
