Euro 2022: Preview, odds and Germany Women v France Women betting tips
Eight-time European champions Germany are in the semi-finals once again and priced as 8/5 favourites to beat semi-final debutants France inside 90 minutes on Wednesday.
The Germans, 12/5 to win Euro 2022, beat Austria 2-0 to reach the last four, but Les Bleues needed an extra-time penalty to get past Netherlands, the defending champions.
It’s a tough match to call, so let’s look at some of the talking points and the latest odds in our Germany Women v France Women betting tips.
Germany Women v France Women form
Germany go into the match having won their last five matches without conceding a goal, although Austria hit the woodwork three times in last week’s quarter-final in west London.
Die Nationalelf started their European Championship campaign with a 4-0 victory over Denmark, but only had 30% possession in a 2-0 win against Spain and ended the group with a 3-0 success against Finland.
Alex Popp then scored in a fourth successive Euro 2022 match when she pounced on a bad clearance from Austria keeper Manuela Zinsberger to wrap up a victory and she is 9/4 to score any time in our Germany Women v France Women betting tips. The Germans can also be backed at 3/1 to win to nil once again.

France raced out of the blocks by becoming the first team to score five first-half goals at the Women’s European Championship in a 5-1 victory over Italy and went into their final group game having won their previous 16 matches.
A much-changed team were heading for a 17th victory when Iceland struck in the 12th minute of stoppage time to earn a 1-1 draw.
They still topped the group by three points from Belgium, but are 15/8 underdogs to reach the final in normal time for what should be a close encounter in Milton Keynes.
Although they needed extra time to squeeze past the Dutch they had 33 shots, 13 of which were on target, so they fully deserved to progress to the last four.

France have never beaten Germany in a competitive match in four attempts, although their 2015 World Cup quarter-final went to penalties and this could be their big chance to get the monkey off their back.
There doesn’t seem to be a lot between these teams, so a draw at 2/1 is the first of our Germany Women v France Women betting tips.
Germany Women v France Women head to head
The last meeting between these nations came in a friendly just over a year ago when Kenza Dali scored the only goal of the game for the French, although Germany had won by the same scoreline two years earlier.
We’ve already nailed our colours to the draw mast, but if arms were twisted we’d probably side with France who have beaten Netherlands (twice), Brazil and England in the last 15 months.
Looking at the #GetAPrice section, France are 11/10 to win or draw, Germany not to score in the first half and under 3.5 goals in the match.
Germany Women v France Women team news
Germany suffered a major blow on the eve of the game when winger Klara Buhl was ruled out after testing positive for Covid.
Buhl, who has played in all four matches at Euro 2022, is in isolation despite not showing any symptoms.
France coach Corinne Diacre is once again without striker Marie-Antoinette Katoto who sustained an ACL injury in the 2-1 win against Belgium.
Melvine Malard is expected to start at number nine for the third match in a row in Katoto’s absence, supported by Kadidiatou Diani and Delphine Cascarino.
Goalscorer odds
Popp is the 5/1 favourite to break the deadlock but she has actually scored the last goal three times, an option which can be backed at the same price.
Midfielder Lina Magull has netted twice at Euro 2022, including the opener against Austria, and is 8/1 to get the ball rolling or 7/2 in the anytime market.

Popp’s fellow forwards Klara Buhl and Svenja Huth are 7/1 and 17/2 respectively to draw first blood or 3/1 and 7/2 to score.
Malard is the 6/1 favourite from Les Bleues to bag the opening goal of the game or 14/5 just to score.
Cascarino and Diani are both 9/1 to net the opener or 4/1 and 7/2 respectively to breach Germany’s defence.
