Grand National 2025: Bookies reveal five most popular horses

Ahead of April 5th's huge Grand National race, Ladbrokes has revealed the five most popular horses with punters this year.

Grand National front-runner I Am Maximus is also the most popular pick with Ladbrokes punters ahead of the nation’s favourite race.

The 2024 winner, who is 6/1 to make it back-to-back National triumphs, is closely followed in the popularity stakes by Vanillier (14/1), one of the record seven greys set to run in this year’s renewal. In third is former favourite Stumptown (10/1).

Hewick, who has been backed into 12/1 from 50/1, is the public’s fourth-favourite, while the top five is rounded out by Minella Cocooner (14/1).

 Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Favourites have come and gone, but I Am Maximus has constantly received the lion’s share of punters’ backing this week. Elsewhere, love for Hewick has shown no sign of slowing down, and after being as much as 50/1, he stands as our worst result on Saturday.”
