Greyhound betting tips: Our trader talks Tuesday racing

| 23.03.2020

While the sport remains on the bench, the greyhounds continues under starters orders – albeit behind closed doors.

And with packed cards up and down the UK, our trader has run through the pick of the action and who to keep an eye on.

Afternoon Cards

With the lack of an Open Racing scene due to the Coronavirus pandemic the greyhound racing authorities have come up with Invitation races for the best racers trained by the trainers attached to a track.

We have 4 Invitation races this afternoon at Hove and one dog which jumps of the page is Aim For Glory in the 2.26 race. He’s been running at Monmore in the Ladbrokes Puppy Derby and narrowly avoided qualifying for the semi-finals after he lost out in a bunched finish.

He has since won a nice race at Central Park in a very good time and although Seamus Cahill’s runner is a wide seed – he has won from Trap 2 recently so Trap 3 this afternoon may not be as bad a draw as it first seemed.

The most successful trap at Monmore this year has been T3 with 168 wins so far in 2020. The 3.02 race has Moanteen Shaun coming out of the favoured white jacket.

After winning an A6 race in February Kim Billingham’s puppy has found life tricky in A5 but the grader relents today and he can take advantage of the leniency!

He has a plenty of early pace and with 2 debutantes inside him who I’d imagine will come on for their first race and with a level break I’d expect T3 to lead all the way.

RPGTV Evening cards

One of the better races on the card is the 7.42 and the main fancy on the card comes in that race with Trap 2 Russelena Rock.

He’s a regular in Open races at the track and this represents a marked downgrade for him.

He doesn’t make things easy for himself as he generally comes from off the pace however he is helped in that respect with the fact the majority of his opposition like to lead and they could give him a nice tow into the race and set the race up nicely for him.

One of the most inform dogs at the track is Pennys Sky who runs in the 6.47 race.

She’s been on a remarkable run that started in October last year and spanned 10 races – where she’s either won (4 times) or finished second (6 times) – and this month she has completed a hat trick of wins.

She’s got plenty of early pace and is very likely to lead again tonight and it could well be a case of her unbeaten run continuing.
