Harry Kane transfer odds and clubs in the running

Bayern Munich have been cut to evens favourites from 6/4 to sign Harry Kane after making another bid for the Tottenham striker.

The Bundesliga giants have reportedly made a second offer of £68.5m plus add-ons for the England captain which Spurs are expected to reject.

Big-spending PSG seemed to be out of the running to sign the Spurs star, but with uncertainty surrounding the future of Kylian Mbappe, they are now the second favourites.

Here, we look at the latest Harry Kane transfer odds and the future of the Premier League’s second most prolific scorer.

Bayern Munich

Bayern will have been encouraged by new Spurs manager Ange Postecoglou claiming he has been given no assurances about the future of Kane, who has been the subject of two bids from the decorated German club.

The Bundesliga champions failed with an initial £60m bid for Kane in June and Spurs are likely to give their latest offer the same treatment.

Kane is reportedly keen on a move to Bayern Munich with whom he is thought to have held positive talks, but Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is digging his heels in either because he does not want to sell the club’s prized asset or the price is too low.

Either way, Kane remains a Tottenham player ahead of his return to training and Bayern may need to up their bid significantly if they are to stand a chance of bolstering their strikeforce.

PSG

The French champions were 25/1 on Monday to sign Kane, but with the future of Kylian Mbappe up in the air those odds have now been slashed to 7/1.

Mbappe has refused to extend his current deal which expires in 2024 and in an interview conducted with France Football magazine, claimed that the club are “divisive”.

PSG chairman Nasser Al-Khelaifi is adamant that the France forward will not be allowed to leave on a free transfer next summer, so unless he signs a new deal he is likely to be sold probably to Real Madrid who had clearly been hoping to pick him up for nothing.

Should Mbappe move to the 14-time European champions, PSG will be in the market for a new striker and will have cash to burn.

Real Madrid

The 14-time European champions remain in the market for a new striker following Karim Benzema’s shock decision to move to Saudi Arabia.

The current Ballon d’Or holder is the second all-time top scorer for Los Blancos with 353 goals, a distant 98 behind Cristiano Ronaldo, so he is a tough act to follow.

Real Madrid have also been linked with a move for Kylian Mbappe, who informed PSG that he would not extend his contract to 2025, adding that he was happy to stay in Paris.

That means he would be available on a free contract at the end of the season which would be the ideal scenario for the Spaniards, but still leaves them short up front in the meantime.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side were 5/1 last month to sign Kane but those odds have since drifted amid Bayern’s firm interest.

Manchester United

United were expected to make a concerted effort to sign Kane in the summer, but so far a potential move seems to have gone quiet.

The Red Devils are instead focusing their efforts on signing Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount, who is close to moving to Old Trafford after the two clubs agreed an initial £55m deal, with an additional £5m dependent on appearances and success.

It’s possible that the potential takeover of the club is getting in the way of a move for Kane, so a bid could resurface once that matter has been resolved.

The Glazer family have remained quiet on that front during the bidding war between Sheikh Jassim and Ineos owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and their silence means Kane’s odds on a move to United continue to stagnate.

Best of the rest

Chelsea have already added forwards Christopher Nkunku and Nicolas Jackson to their ranks, but the Blues have been cut from 22/1 to 16/1 to sign Kane.

Newcastle, taken over by a Saudi-led consortium in 2021, are expected to spend big ahead of their first Champions League campaign in 20 years and their odds on a statement signing have been cut in half from 33/1 to 16/1 having already brought in Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali from AC Milan.
