2017 Racing Specials: O’Brien family well-represented in big list
Published:The New Year is upon us and as is customary at this time we’ve been indulging in some crystal ball gazing to produce a bumper list of 2017 Horse Racing Specials.
Key figures across both the Flat and Jumps feature with the O’Brien family particularly prominent.
We’re going 10/1 for dad Aidan O’Brien to break the worldwide number of Group 1 winners in a calendar year.
Meanwhile, it’s 33/1 for the Master of Ballydoyle to train all 5 UK Classic winners in 2017.
Son Joseph is also on our list with JOB just 3/1 to train a winner at the Cheltenham Festival next spring.
Other headline Flat specials include the 4/1 for champion jockey Jim Crowley to ride a UK Classic winner while it’s the same price for the legendary Frankel to sire a UK Classic winner in 2017.
Back to the Jumps and we’re offering 3/1 for there to be another Irish-trained winner of the Grand National following the success of Mouse Morris’ Rule the World in the previous renewal.
And it’s 25/1 for a female rider to win the world’s greatest steeplechase with 14/1 available for man of the moment Colin Tizzard to train the winner at Aintree.
