Al Boum Photo 100/30 to complete Gold Cup hat-trick

After the latest round of entries were revealed today, Al Boum Photo has been placed as the 100/30 favourite to clinch a Gold Cup hat-trick, according to our traders.

The Willie Mullins-trained nine-year-old repeated his New Year’s Day winning run at Tramore, similar to the two previous times he’s gone on to win the Gold Cup.

After Arkle, Best Mate and Golden Miller, Al Boum Photo has the opportunity to become a three-time winner in the Gold Cup.

Ladbrokes Jon Lees said: “Despite his record at Cheltenham, Al Boum Photo remains at very backable odds to win a third Gold Cup, which is perhaps surprising for a horse who has been beaten only once since April 2018 and is on the cusp of such a rare achievement.”

After finishing second and fourth at Cheltenham last year respectively, Santini and Minella Indo are joint second favourites at 7/1, while Savills Chase winner A Plus Tard is 8/1 for victory.
