We have runners at Ascot and Haydock this weekend.

At Ascot Robin Gold (1.30) runs in the Mares’ Handicap Hurdle.

She ran really well the other day up in grade where she finished third, narrowly beaten. I think she can be competitive again but this is another step up for her.

Amoola Gold and Marracudja (3.17) run in the 2m handicap chase. Unfortunately, Marracudja is still paying the penalty for the Clarence House Chase run last year.

It’s getting a little boring to be honest with you. The handicapper needs to do something about it and I am sure he will do pretty soon. It’s been nearly a year now since his last win and he’s still 9lb higher than the mark he won off.

Amoola Gold however won really well at this track last time. This is a bit more competitive for him off a higher mark but he’s in good form so why wouldn’t you run.

At Haydock we have three runners. Flash The Steel (1.50) runs in the 2m3f handicap hurdle where the trip should be perfect. He ran here last year but 3m was too far. This should be much more like it. He’s in great form at home.

West To The Bridge (2.25) runs in the long distance handicap hurdle and I am really happy with him. This race was on the agenda straight after he won at Carlisle last time and I would like to think he has some sort of chance again.

Don Poli (3.35) runs in the stayers’ handicap chase and I would like to think he has a bit of a chance as well.

The run at Aintree blew the cobwebs away and I felt he ran really well for a good long way. Harry was quite aggressive on him from halfway down the back to the line.
