Dan Skelton talks Saturday runners at Haydock and Ascot

| 17.01.2020

We are a bit quiet by normal Saturday standards but we have four runners with one at Haydock which Harry is going to ride.

Knight In Dubai (1.30) is the horse in the Grade 2 Altcar Novices’ Chase. I am happy with him. He loves soft/heavy ground. He has been progressive in his novice chases so I am looking forward to running him.

At Ascot we will have three runners with the first Get On The Yager (1.15) who will be ridden by Tristan Durrell as it’s an amateurs’ race.

He ran well in the voided race at Sandown but he is on a very competitive mark now so I hope it is only a question of time before he wins. He is in good form at home.

Bennys King (3.00) tackles the 2m5f handicap chase. I think this trip will be much better for him as we don’t feel he quite stayed three miles up at Wetherby in really heavy conditions.

Marracudja (3.35) runs in the Clarence House Chase and is the outsider of the lot. We

recognise that but are hoping he can put in a clear round and pick up some prize-money.

As he won last time we thought he would be worth giving a little go in a race like this. If he can pick up fourth, that would be magic, but we know the strength of the opposition he is taking on here.
