On Thursday the featureAmerican meeting comes from Gulfstream Park where eleven races will take placestarting from 18:00.

Plus, we will be offering an extra place if10 or more runners go to post in the 18.00, 19.41, 21.17 and 23.19 and our manMatt Trounce has the full lowdown.

In the 22.49, Bow Town Cat will be making her first start for Joe Orseno, her eighth trainer in a career that began in August 2016 at Saratoga.

She most recently won for her previoustrainer at the beginning of March which was her best dirt figure for a year. She hasn’t raced at the track since 2017 but has run well here in the past, including a win and two seconds.

The likely favourite for the race is another switcher, Flora Fantasy, who makes her debut for Jose D’Angelo. She is seeking her third straight win and in impressive eighth in total at Gulfstream.

Trainers to watch

Elsewhere on the card, the 18:35 Wesley Ward debuts two of his youngsters in the four and half furlong maiden.

Ward is well known on these shores afterhis plethora of Royal Ascot winners and has made a career out of trainingspeedy two-year olds. Tharos was a $275,000 yearling buy and Tyler Gaffalionetakes the ride, while Gem Thief is ridden by Irad Ortiz Jr.

Juan Alvarado’s another trainer with a very good record with two-year olds at the track and he is represented by Lyrical. She has yet to be seen on the track either but has been working nicely every Sunday for the last month at the track.

Jockey to watch

Gaffalione has been the man to be with at Gulfstream Park this meeting and he has another strong book of rides. He could get off to a good start in the opener with the nap of the card, No No Nina. She often comes here in good form and has a cracking draw in stall two given the size of the field.

This ismuch easier than the contests she has been running recently and she should bevery hard to beat. He should also go close in the 20.45 aboard VictoryTown who was runner up on his latest start. That was slightly disappointing, but the form looks stronger in hindsight with the third winning since.

Tyler Gaffalione rides: No No Nina (18.00), Tharos (18.35),Couple of Nikkis (19.41), Indian Counselor (20.13), Victory Town (20.45), FiberOptic (21.17), Sassy Justice (22.19), Kitten’s Clown (23.19).
