Ladbrokes ambassador Paul Townend previews his Saturday rides

Reflecting on Christmas, Santa came and brought loads of presents! The racing didn’t go too bad either.

The novice chasers were very good including Haut En Couleurs, Ferny Hollow and Galopin Des Champs. Sir Gerhard won his maiden really well also.

Kilcruit was the biggest disappointment. That is twice he has been beaten now so it is a worry. Overall though the majority of the horses ran really well and we will be hoping we can continue the good form through to 2022.

Tramore 12pm – El Fabiolo

He was third in a listed race over hurdles in Auteuil. Willie isn’t afraid to bring a nice novice down to Tramore for this race so hopefully he can do the business there.

He has the experience of a run over hurdles to call upon.

Tramore 1.10 – Hors Piste

She’s had a run around Pau, so again she has the experience over hurdles.

It doesn’t look the strongest of races on paper so we will be hoping she will start her Irish career in the best way possible.

Tramore 2.20 – Al Boum Photo

He’s back to where he started for the last couple of years. He obviously loves it around the track and he is in great form at home.

I am really looking forward to getting back on him. He is a favourite of mine, winning two Gold Cups. All the roads lead back to Cheltenham again and hopefully he can do it here.
