How many bets will the bookies take at the Grand National 2025?

Ladbrokes has revealed just how many bets the bookies are expected to take at the 2025 Grand National on April 5, and the answer is staggering.

Bookmakers will take 100,000 bets per minute on Saturday, in the build-up to the Grand National, according to Ladbrokes.

With over a third of the British adult population set for a flutter, the bookies have revealed the astronomical number of bets they expect to take before the race, with £150m expected to be staked across the industry on their biggest day of the year.

Last year's winner, I Am Maximus (6/1), is currently the most popular pick in the book in terms of bets placed, while Vanillier (also 12/1) and Stumptown (9/1) make up the podium spots.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: ""We're strapping in for the busiest betting day of the year as millions of Brits prepare to pile in on the Grand National action. Whether it's meaningful names, lucky numbers or favourite-coloured silks, it's the one race everyone seems to have an opinion on."

For what it's worth, I Am Maximus is also being tipped as the favourite by the bookies, so it's seems like many believe we could be heading towards a back-to-back winner.
