How Twitter reacted to Munich magic from Robert Lewandowski
Published:
Robert Lewandowski came on as a half-time on Tuesday night, and by the 60th minute was celebrating his fifth goal of the game. Yes you did read that right.
The Bayern Munich striker’s exploits not only helped his side come back from a goal down against the previously unbeaten Wolfsburg, but also handed the record for the quickest Bundesliga hat-trick, fastest four goal haul and speediest quintet of strikes.
Not only that, but the Polish hitman basically broke Twitter.
First off, here are his moments of brilliance in that nine minute spell from first to last…
The reactions of those around the Allianz Arena told it all, from WAGs representing both sides in Mrs Gotze and Mrs Schurrle…

…to Lewandowski’s gaffer Pep Guardiola…
Others though, were less impressed with his on-pitch exploits, claiming they had achieved similar feats…
I have just pulled a Lewandowski and ate 5 McMuffins in 9 minutes. — Ali (@Ink184) September 23, 2015
His five goals may have been record breaking but his display wasn’t the quickest impact a substitute has had on a match…
Not as good as LEWANDOWSKI’S sub appearance last night…. But how about this for an INSTANT IMPACT! #SuperSub pic.twitter.com/6dxRcLMAT6

Soon the comparisons were quick to surface with Ladbrokes piling more misery on Newcastle United fans…
It’s taken Newcastle 117 days to score five league goals, it took Lewandowski 9 minutes… pic.twitter.com/wKS4uxIJoM — Ladbrokes (@Ladbrokes) September 22, 2015
But it wasn’t just the Toon Army feeling the heat. England’s all-time record goalscorer wasn’t safe from the Twitter stattos…
Quite startling: Lewandowski scored more league goals in five minutes than Rooney has in 2015.

And whenever a world class striker shows moments of brilliance, you can always rely on the Arsenal fans to come out in force lambasting their club’s failure to land him or any other suitable forward for that matter…
We just witnessed Lewandowski scoring 5 goals hours after Wenger said Giroud and Walcott are ”two top-level strikers” lmao — Dezil Dez (@DezilDez) September 22, 2015
Not all Premier League clubs were green with envy though as ‘Deluded Brendan’ nodded with appreciation but was happier with the options he had closer to home.
What a superb performance from Robert Lewandowski. He’s showing shades of Danny Ings

In more than doubling his season haul from four goals to nine in such a short period of time there is no doubting Lewandowski’s brilliance. It hasn’t just been just Tuesday night that he has been delivering in Germany, with 99 goals in 169 Bundesliga appearances. So then, we leave you with one notion, spare a thought for Blackburn fans who have been left wandering what could have been…
BUT……..If it was not for an Icelandic Ash Cloud Robert Lewandowski could be strutting his stuff on the Biggest stage of all EWOOD PARK — Lauren (@MBBETTING) September 23, 2015
