How Twitter reacted to Wales’ comeback RWC win over England
Published:Wales sucked the life out of a packed Twickenham Stadium on Saturday night, staging a second-half fightback that relegated England to a 28-25 loss and left them in danger of exiting their own World Cup early.
Dan Biggar was the star of the show for the visitors, kicking Warren Gatland’s side to glory with a flawless display.
However, scrutiny will lie with England skipper Chris Robshaw, who declined the chance to draw the game with a late penalty kick at goal, instead deciding to go for a lineout and the win, only to come up short.
Here’s how Twitter reacted on a night with plenty of talking points:
Wales’ injury woes at this tournament are well documented, but they worsened at Twickenham. At one point, Biggar, Hallam Amos and Scott Williams all required treatment at the same time:
#WalesVsEngland If you’re Welsh and live near Twickenham get your boots on!

Upon securing the memorable win, Welshman Gareth Bale tweeted his thoughts from home…
What a game!! Come on #Wales pic.twitter.com/bH9ETVErZE — Gareth Bale (@GarethBale11) September 26, 2015
While Robbie Savage partied with his parents:
Yeahhhhhhhh @GarethBale11 !!!!!! Me and your mum and dad !!!! 25-28 walesssss pic.twitter.com/Y6e7WWg1Is

Austin Healey was gracious in defeat:
Unbelievable comeback from Wales, England made some terrible decisions in last quarter! Well done Wales showed amazing spirit with injuries — Austin Healey (@IamAustinHealey) September 26, 2015
And Joey Barton rallied the nation for a now pivotal Australia clash:
Aussies can’t scrummage. It’s not the end of the road. We could easily turn them over. FairPlay to Wales, showed some real plums tonight.

Although Shane Warne didn’t share the Burnley midfielder’s opinion:
Congrats Wales, even sweeter when Australia Smash England next week & knock them out of the tournament hahah…. Dry your eyes England !! — Shane Warne (@ShaneWarne) September 26, 2015
Most bizarrely of all, though, were these words of encouragement from Snakes on a Plane star Samuel L Jackson:
Tough but epic game @ChrisRobshaw . Still all to play for against Oz. Hope Wales can get backline together for Fiji! #ENGvWAL @One4theBoys
