Hyderabad v Delhi: Visitors to come unstuck at Sunrisers fortress

Published:

Sunrisers Hyderabad host Delhi Daredevils in Game 48 of the Indian Premier League, with the hosts yet to drop any points at home in this season’s tournament.

That looks particularly ominous for Delhi, who are pointless on their travels in the IPL so far.

But after losing their opening six games, the Daredevils have now won three of their last four to give themselves some hope of reaching the play-off stage.

Despite this, Hyderabad’s record at the Rajiv Gandhi Stadium is hard to ignore, and a price of 10/11 for a sixth straight win on their home pitch looks a solid bet.

Hyderabad won by three wickets when the two sides met in the 14th Match last month, with Dale Steyn picking up two wickets for just 11 runs.

The South African has picked up eight more wickets since then and is 11/8 to pick up over 1.5 wickets against the Daredevils once again.

Shikar Dhawan has had quite an impact for Hyderabad since joining up with the squad after missing the opening two weeks through injury.

The 27-year-old has picked up a 63 not out and a 73 not out either side of a duck against Rajasthan.

Dhawan hit home nine and 10 boundaries in those two matches respectively, and is at evens to hit over 2.5 fours against Delhi.

Daredevils’s David Warner is at 11/10 to hit over 2.5 balls across the boundary, and that could tempt many considering his recent form.

The Australian has scored strongly in his last three appearances, with knocks of 66 not out, 51 not out and a 40, picking up at least four boundaries in each match.
