ICYMI: Blair Alston nets stunning opener as Saints hold Rangers

Tommy Wright - St. Johnstone

Rangers earned a share of the spoils against St. Johnstone last night but it was Blair Alston’s stunning strike for the visitors that stole the headlines at Ibrox.

The 24-year-old midfielder silenced the home crowd after curling in a delightful effort with just five minutes on the clock.

Mark Warburton’s Gers hit back before half-time when Joe Garner headed in from a corner but these sides were forced to settle for a point despite both goalscorers having chances to add to their respective tallies on the night.

The result lifts Tommy Wright’s Saints into third position in the Ladbrokes Premiership table while Rangers currently sit in fifth place.
