Nunthorpe Stakes Odds, York odds

The Nunthorpe Stakes headlines day three of the York Ebor Festival in what should be a rip-roaring clash between supreme sprinters Lady Aurelia and Battaash.

There’s plenty of other exciting racing to look forward to though, with Dartmouth and Thomas Hobson set to contest the Lonsdale Cup Stakes over 2m56y.

With four races to enjoy live on ITV, we’re here to take you through the afternoon’s proceedings.

NAP – Lady Aurelia – 15:35, York

In arguably the race of the week, we’re going for Lady Aurelia to continue her 5f dominance and see off the challenge of Battaash.

Wesley Ward’s filly is unbeaten in four starts over the distance and bolted up to win by 3l from Profitable in the King’s Stand Stakes at Royal Ascot.

While Lady Aurelia and Battaash both have an official rating of 122, the filly should prove herself above her rival.

Frankie Dettori will be in the saddle for Aurelia after an injury lay-off, and with the Italian star on board, we can’t see the American thoroughbred getting beat.

She’s the favourite and she’s the favourite for a reason.

NB – Thomas Hobson – 14:25, York

We’re going for Hobson’s choice in the 14:00 Lonsdale Cup Stakes, as Willie Mullins makes this year’s Ebor bow. .

It’ll be a close run thing against Dartmouth, but the long-distance trip should suit Thomas Hobson more than Sir Michael Stoute’s runner, who is tackling 2m+ for the first time.

The Mullins yard have a good recent record in this race as well. Max Dynamite romped home in 2015 and last year Wicklow Brave came up just short.

The seven-year-old has the credentials to make it 1-3-1 for the Irish trainer as he bids to build on a Class 2 victory at Royal Ascot in June.

Lively Longshot – Londinium – 13:55, York

After grabbing a place with Firmament on Thursday, today we turn our attention to Londinium.

He might be halfway down the betting but the three-year-old is carrying some serious form into this 1m4f handicap.

After winning a tough-looking handicap on the Wednesday at Glorious Goodwood earlier this month, the British raider returned two days later to claim a narrow second to Walton Street over 1m3f.

The going was soft that day and that won’t bother him this time around either.

An each-way shout at the very least, Mark Johnston’s charge is boosted by coming in second lowest in the weights.
