Kevin De Bruyne next club odds: MLS likely despite Aston Villa links

After announcing his departure from Man City on April 4, Kevin De Bruyne is being tipped for a move to the MLS, despite links to Aston Villa, according to the latest odds on his next club.

He may not be at the peak of his powers right now, but there's no denying that De Bruyne is one of the best midfielders to ever play in the Premier League.

Since his move from Wolfsburg to Man City in 2015, KDB has won since Premier League titles, often playing a crucial role in each of those trophy-winning seasons.

However, the Belgian announced on social media that he only has a maximum of 11 games left as a Man City player, with a decision being made for him to leave the club when his contract expires on June 30.

Taking to Instagram, KDB emotionally announced his decision to fans, thanking them for their support and urging them to 'enjoy these last moments together'.

But such is the case in football that shortly after announcing his decision, fans were already speculating about where KDB is going to be playing his football next...

KDB will opt for the MLS over a move to Saudi Arabia, according to Ladbrokes, this is despite recent reports indicating that the midfielder is prioritising remaining in Europe over moving to another continent.

Interestingly enough, it emerged three weeks after De Bruyne's announcement that Aston Villa wanted to sign the player. However, the bookies don't think that's going to happen as they aren't even offering odds on a move for the Belgian to Unai Emery's Premier League side.

Following the Man City legend's shock announcement at the beginning of the month, the bookies revealed his most likely next destination, and 'Any MLS Club' leads the way in the betting, ahead of 'Any Saudi Pro League' team.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "All good things must come to an end, but Manchester City's - and the Premier League's - loss looks set to be the MLS's gain, if the latest odds are anything to go by."

Elsewhere, a shock move to Bayern Munich is next in the betting at while a return to Wolfsburg, a move to Champions League finalists Inter Milan and PSG are all on the table.

The odds were priced that way with good reason too, as 12 days after his announcement, Fabrizio Romano revealed that a deal is 'on' for De Bruyne to join Chicago Fire in the MLS.

Romano states that the club has presents its project to KDB, who is going to assess his options over the next few days and weeks before making a decision.

It's worth noting that Romano isn't stating that De Bruyne is heading to Chicago Fire in the MLS, but they are the first club to reportedly show concrete interest in the midfield and present him with a proposal.
