Ladbrokes make Luke Shaw shoo-in for Euro 2016 squad
Published:
Manchester United left back Luke Shaw has been made a short-price pick to make England’s Euro 2016 squad after returning to training for the Red Devils.
The 20-year-old defender has been out of action since breaking a leg in the 2-1 Champions League defeat to PSV Eindhoven in September last year.
However, the former Southampton man was in dazzling form before that setback and our traders believe he has a great chance of being selected by Three Lions manager Roy Hodgson, pricing him up at 7/2 to make the cut.
The Old Trafford favourite won’t be there to just make up the number either, with the traders going just 5/1 that he starts England’s first game of the tournament against Russia on June 11.
One man happy to see Shaw back in the mix was team-mate Juan Mata who showed his pleasure with a post-training snap on Instagram…
Shaw could also play a big part in United’s season run-in with a price of 10/1 suggesting he can chip in with at least one goal as the Red Devils attempt to reach the top four and end a 12-year barren spell in the FA Cup.
A Ladbrokes spokesman said: “Seeing Luke Shaw back on the pitch will put a smile on more than just United supporters’ faces.
“He still has a long way to go but given his talent we’re taking no chances and backing him to make a late push for Roy’s summer squad.”
