Luke Littler heads into the Players Championship Finals as the most popular pick with punters to win the trophy, according to sponsors, Ladbrokes. With the teenage sensation hoping that a win here could give him a late shout for being crowned Sports Personality of the Year next month.
The bookies have revealed the top five in the popularity charts before a dart's been thrown in Minehead, and it's Littler who leads the way with 13.6% of the backing, at 3/1.
Elsewhere, unsurprisingly, world number one, Luke Humphries, is the second most popular pick with 9.7% of punters backing the reigning champion to retain his trophy, while Mike De Decker (6%) makes up the podium spots.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "Punters are once again expecting a Battle of the Lukes, and the draw down in Minehead has worked out perfectly for those wanting another Humphries v Littler final... but it's the latter who'll be heading into the tournament as the punters' favourite."
Above is a list of the 22 names with odds of 50/1 or less to be crowned Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals winner next week. The Ladbrokes Players Championship Finals in 2024 has a prize fund of £600,000, with the winner receiving £120,000 of that.
Whoever comes second place will receive £60,000, whilst anyone who reaches the last 16 will walk away with £10,000. No one is leaving empty handed though, as just for qualifying for the competition players will receive £3,000.
