Scorpionz star as Premier League legends cost bookies £8k!

A team of Premier League legends surprised Birmingham crowds on Saturday afternoon with a shock appearance at the Ladbrokes Players Cup Final.
Invincibles Lauren and Jeremie Aliadiere were joined by William Gallas, Paddy Kenny and Clinton Morrison at Powerleague Birmingham on Saturday for a surprise game against Ladbrokes Players Cup winners Slough Scorpionz.
‘Scorpionz’ won £20,000 after seeing off the 16-team strong field of regional winners from London, Manchester, Birmingham and Glasgow, defeating Barrowfield Bruisers in the final… a record-breaking cash prize given away at a Powerleague 5-a-side tournament.
Scorpionz then went on to play William Gallas and co in a ‘Boss Level’ game for the chance to win an extra £8k (£500 for every team) – taking the total prize pot to £33k – in a match also featuring Love Island star Nas Majeed and freestyler Olivia Weedall.
The ‘Boss Level’ match finished 6-4 to Scorpionz, while Clinton Morrison was sensationally sent to the sin-bin for a ‘headbutt’ on referee Terence Wallen. The victory meant every team who made the finals day received £500, taking the total prize pot to £33k.
