Steve Cooper now front-runner for Leicester job
Published:
Steve Cooper has emerged as the frontrunner in the race to replace Enzo Maresca at Leicester City, according to Ladbrokes.
With Maresca being confirmed for the Stamford Bridge gig this week, the bookies have already priced up his most likely replacements, and as things stand, Steve Cooper is the favourite for the job, at 6/4.
Elsewhere, Carlos Corberan is one of the favourites at 11/2, with David Moyes also one of the front-runners at 3/1 following his departure from West Ham at the end of the 2023/24 season.
Ex-Man United striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy was initially installed as the joint-favourite with the bookies, but he's fallen off in the betting odds somewhat over the last week, and is now at 8/1 to become Leicester's next manager.

Leicester aren't the only side in the market for a new manager, with INEOS potentially also shopping around with a decision over Erik ten Hag's future yet to be made.
The current favourite to become Man United's next manager is Mauricio Pochettino, if the Dutchman is sacked. The former Chelsea boss left at the end of the season, but might not be out of a Premier League job for too long if the bookies are to be believed.
As well as being in the running for the Leicester job, Graham Potter is in the running to return to Brighton as the club's next manager, but he's no longer the outright favourite.
Leicester City are currently 500/1 to win the 2024/25 Premier League season, nine years after shocking the world to win England's top flight in 2016.
