Liverpool assistant Zeljko Buvac now 4/1 from 33/1 for Arsenal job
Published:
Zeljko Buvac’s odds of replacing Arsene Wenger at Arsenal have been dramatically cut this morning by our traders.
After beginning the day as a 33/1 shot, Liverpool’s assistant manager has been slashed into just 4/1 following a flurry of bets.
It follows reports in the Bosnian press that Jurgen Klopp’s number two has struck an agreement to take over at the Emirates in the summer.
That means Buvac is now the second most likely name to succeed Wenger in the North London, according to the latest betting.
Only current Juventus boss Massimiliano Allegri is now ahead of him in the market at 11/4.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It’s easy to see why Buvac is being linked with the Arsenal job and punters clearly don’t think it’s a coincidence he’s taken time away from his duties at Liverpool.”
He added: “A move from 33/1 to 6/1 is the most drastic we’ve seen since we opened the betting on Wenger’s replacement.”
