Latest figures show Liverpool lead the way in Premier League outright betting popularity charts, according to bookies
With just seven games left this season, the bookies’ latest data shows Liverpool – the 9/4 outsiders of the three-horse race – are the most popular picks with punters to lift the title, having been the subject of 41.1% of all bets placed on the top three.
Elsewhere, 36.7% of punters are backing Mikel Arteta’s men to go all the way (now at 7/4), while Man City round out the podium places with just 22.2% of the backing, despite being frontrunners in the betting at 6/4.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “It looks like this year’s title race will go right down to the wire, and while our traders now make Man City favourites to pip Arsenal and Liverpool to the post, it’s the latter who are leading the way – by some distance – in the popularity charts with punters.”
