Ladbrokes presents its Liverpool v Chelsea betting tips ahead of the big Premier League clash between the two sides at Anfield on January 31.
In both team’s first game of the season, Liverpool travelled to Stamford Bridge where they were held by Chelsea to a 1-1 draw, but things now are very different for both sides than they were in August 2023.
Liverpool and Chelsea both had several players making their debuts after undergoing massive overhauls that summer. Liverpool’s new signings have settled rather well, which is why they find themselves in first place. Chelsea’s, on the other hand, have struggled to hit the ground running, and they find themselves in ninth place.
Despite there being 17 points between the two sides ahead of the game, the Blue’s trip to Anfield won’t be easy for Jurgen Klopp’s side, but it does present a good opportunity for some punts, so join Ladbrokes as we take you through our betting tips for Liverpool v Chelsea tomorrow night.
Liverpool to win & both teams to score – 7/4
Despite Liverpool having the best defensive record in the league this season and Chelsea have scored 12 goals less than their opponents on Wednesday night, we’re picking both teams to score at Anfield tomorrow, with the Reds also picking up the win in the process.
Alisson has kept seven clean sheets for Liverpool this season, but conceded against two goals in his last game against Norwich in the FA Cup. With Christopher Nkunku fit and available to play, Chelsea will have a fresh and unpredictable edge to their forward line, which could cause an issue for the Reds.
Chelsea have conceded 31 goals, on the other hand. That, coupled with the fact that only Manchester City have scored more goals this campaign than Klopp’s side suggests that there’s a good chance that one of Liverpool’s attackers finds the back of the net tomorrow evening too.
So, at the price of 7/4, we’re pegging BTTS at Anfield, with the added caveat that Liverpool, who have only lost one game in the league all season, also pick up the win.
Darwin Nunez to score and assist – 11/1
After being surprisingly linked to the club in the summer, Liverpool’s Darwin Nunez could prove to be a real thorn in Chelsea’s side on Wednesday evening.
Nunez scored two goals in the Premier League last time out, away at Bournemouth, and also found the back of the net during his last game at Anfield against Norwich.
The Uruguayan is arguably in the best form of his Liverpool career, and at the price of 9/1, we’re pegging him to be in and amongst the goals tomorrow evening, popping up with BOTH a goal and an assist.
Trent Alexander-Arnold to have an assist – 6/4
Sticking with assists for our penultimate pick, we’re going for Trent Alexander-Arnold, in what will only be his third game of 2023, to set up a goal at the price of 6/4,
Trent came off the bench against Norwich, playing both at right-back and in centre-midfield, but given that he missed just three weeks of action, he should be fit and sharp enough to start from the outset against Chelsea tomorrow evening.
The Englishman is set to play his 300th game for Liverpool tomorrow. Interestingly enough, his 200th also came against Chelsea, and he provided an assist in that game, and we’re of the belief that he could do the same at Anfield on Wednesday.
Darwin Nunez, Cole Palmer & Luis Diaz all to have a shot on target – 17/10
For our final pick, we’re picking Nunez, Cole Palmer and Luis Diaz all to have a shot on target on Wednesday evening, with odds of 17/10.
All three should start, and are in pretty good form right now. Liverpool games tend to be like basketball matches, in terms of the fact they concede a lot of chances and shots but are an attacking outfit in themselves, so shots should be aplenty on Wednesday evening.
