Liverpool vote to keep Chris Maloney in X Factor for time being
Published:Christopher Maloney is the favourite to be the third act eliminated from the X Factor and has been the popular choice of punters in recent days to be sent home for a second time.
He initially failed to make it beyond the judges house stage, but was given a lifeline by mentor Gary Barlow when picked as his wildcard and then won the wildcard vote to reach the live shows.
However, reports have since been largely negative in that he is making few friends on the show.
Firstly, it was indicated that he had performed on cruise ships previously, which made it slightly farcical that he was perhaps the most nervous contestant ever when preparing to sing in front of people.
Next were suggestions that he is a bit of a showman backstage, with some diva tendencies.
The latest are that he has been warned by show executives for being rude to staff members and taking everything into consideration, punters are believing that Chris’ days are numbered.
But now that the voting opens at the start, rather than the end, of the show, there is the argument that fanbase is more important than ever to win the X Factor.
Second possibly only to Ireland, individuals from Liverpool have a track record for supporting their own and Rebecca Ferguson even stated on the last live show that she would be cheering on Chris for this reason.
Therefore, he could remain for a few weeks yet.
It is fairly rare for the same act to be in the bottom two in successive weeks and for this reason, it may also be best to avoid backing District 3 to be eliminated.
Rylan Clark’s entertaining performances and constant bickering with Barlow may be enough to also secure his survival.
All this means that Kye Sones and Lucy Spraggan could be in danger of becoming a third surprise elimination and the duo can be backed at 7/1 and 10/1 respectively.
