Lyon v Ajax: Visitors have one foot in final, away goal clinches it

They may be 8/13 favourites to win this clash, but Lyon have it all to do if they’re to stand any chance of progressing to the Europa League final. They’re 4-1 down on aggregate against Ajax and as far as we’re concerned, this tie is over.

The visitors head into this game as 7/2 shots to win, but we reckon they’ll set out to frustrate their opponents.

A 3-0 win for Lyon would see them through, following the away goal they netted in Amsterdam. It’s 14/1 we see that scoreline, although the Dutch outfit haven’t conceded three goals without reply in any competition since December 2014.

An away goal changes everything though. That would mean the hosts would have to score five to progress, and at 3/10 our traders are confident Peter Bosz’s men will find the net at least once.

As for goalscorers, it’s no surprise to see Alexandre Lacazette at the head of the market at 11/4 to net first.

It’s something he’s done on 13 occasions already this season in all competitions, although plenty of eyes will be on a certain Kasper Dolberg.

The 19-year-old has been in fine form for Ajax this season, and already has 21 goals to his name – including one against Lyon last week. And 9/5 says he finds the net at any time on Thursday night.

We were treated to five goals the last time these two sides met, and it’s just 21/10 for Over 4.5 to be scored when these two free-flowing sides clash again.

Lyon know how huge a blow an Ajax goal will be, while they have to go all out for a win. With that in mind, finding the right balance will be difficult here, but there’s certainly some value in the 14/5 on offer for the French side to win to nil.
