Just a few days removed from their 0-0 draw at the Etihad Stadium, both Man City and Arsenal are back in Premier League action, and we share our betting tips and predictions for their respective games.
Aston Villa are one of only three teams to have beaten City in the Premier League this year, and Unai Emery’s side travel to Manchester for an away tie against Pep Guardiola’s men this afternoon.
Arsenal are also in action, hosting an injury-plagued Luton side at the Emirates Stadium. The Hatters proved to be a tough challenge for the Gunners when the two sides met earlier in the season, with Declan Rice securing a 4-3 win for his side with a last-minute winner.
Ahead of the games, which have major implications on the Premier League title race, Ladbrokes shares its Man City v Aston Villa & Arsenal v Luton betting tips and predictions.
Man City v Aston Villa & Arsenal v Luton betting tips and predictions
Arsenal set up quite defensively against Man City, but their previous games in 2024 have all featured heaps of goals, and we’re predicting more of the same at the Emirates Stadium tonight.
Arsenal have scored six goals against West Ham, another six against Sheffield United, four against Newcastle, five against Crystal Palace and five against Burnley, all over the last few months, and so we’re going with five or more goals to be scored here, with the Gunners picking up the win in the process.
Mikel Arteta will want his side to get back to winning ways here, with three points taking Arsenal back to the top of the Premier League before Liverpool host Sheffield United tomorrow at Anfield. We’re expecting nothing less than a statement win against a Luton side dealing with a serious amount of injuries at the moment.
Man City haven’t actually won a Premier League game since they won the Manchester Derby on March 3, and they’ll have to be on their best form to get back to winning ways by beating Aston Villa tonight.
However, Emery’s side are without the in-form Ollie Watkins, who misses the game with an injury. The absence of one of the Premier League’s most clinical players this season will come as music to the ears of Pep Guardiola and his coaching staff.
We’re predicting a Man City win here, and despite Watkins’ absence, we’re also including a ‘both teams to score’ pick. Despite being without their number nine, Villa still have others ways to score, with Leon Bailey and Moussa Diaby also having great seasons.
Not only will City want to get back on the board with another three points, but Erling Haaland will be eager to prove people wrong after failing to score in either big game against Liverpool or Arsenal in the Premier League last month.
Roy Keane even labelled Haaland as nothing more than a ‘league two footballer’ on the ball, and the big Norwegian striker won’t be one to shy away from the criticism and will want to prove the Manchester United legend wrong.
We’re predicting a fired up Haaland will start as the nine for City here, popping up with both a goal and an assist at the Etihad Stadium this evening, which you can back at the time of writing with odds of 9/1.
Like Haaland, Saka will be eager to prove the doubters wrong after some pundits and fans questioned his attacking performance against Man City at the Etihad Stadium.
However, Arteta will have made it clear to Saka prior to the game that his out of defence work was more important than anything he did with the ball at his feet, but that won’t be the case against Luton.
Luton are dealing with several injuries in their backline, so Saka will be licking his lips at the prospect of finding the back of the net once again, which we’re expecting him to do at the Emirates tonight.
For what it’s worth, two of our four betting tips and predictions for Man City v Arsenal came in.
