How Man United could line-up under Ruben Amorim

Ladbrokes looks at how Manchester United could line-up under Ruben Amorim, with the club announcing they've appointed the 39-year-old as their new head coach.
After United lost 2-1 to West Ham on October 27, Man United's owners made the decision to sack Erik ten Hag, a decision that many fans had been calling them to make over the summer.
Less than a week later, United announced their new head coach, with Amorim taking his first training session on November 18.
How Man United will line-up under Ruben Amorim
Amorim is now officially confirmed as the new Man United boss, and it's no surprise that the news has seriously excited the club's fans.
The Sporting coach is highly-rated within the game, with the 39-year-old being linked with the Liverpool and Chelsea jobs over the summer, and potentially being lined-up as a successor to Pep Guardiola at Man City, should the Spaniard leave in 2025.
Amorim favourites a 3-4-3 system, snd there's a lot to be excited about in the way that he plays, so join Ladbrokes as we look at how he could make Man United's squad tick again.
GK - Andre Onana
There's no doubt that when Amorim properly becomes manager, Andre Onana will remain Man United's number one.
The ex-Inter Milan goalkeeper may have struggled somewhat since his move to Italy, but he's still a top shot stopper on his day, and is also excellent with the ball at his feet.
The hope for United fans is that with more structure around him, and also with three defenders ahead of him as he was used to at Inter, that Onana will thrive once again.

CB - Leny Yoro
One of the biggest beneficiaries of Amorim coming into United could be Leny Yoro, with the young French defender able to come into the side in defence.
Amorim likes to play with three defenders, and Yoro has the skillset that he likes from someone in his back-line.
Yoro is an astute defender, and also great with the ball at his feet. He needs to play more football and mature as a player, and doing so whilst being supported with more defenders around him could be fantastic for his development.
CB - Matthijs de Ligt
Matthijs de ligt could start as one of Man United's centre-backs under Amorim, also benefitting from playing with two players either side of him.
The ex-Bayern Munich man is an experienced defender who'd benefit from Amorim's desire to have one of his defenders step into midfield and progress the ball, which suits De Ligt's skillset.
CB - Lisandro Martinez
Lisandro Martinez is a perfect wide centre-back, and perhaps the defender most suited to Amorim's system and preferred style of play.
The Argentine is one of the best in the world on the ball, and his aggressive nature would lead to United's defence being less exposed with two more centre-halves behind him to sweep up.
RWB - Diogo Dalot
Diogo Dalot will almost definitely be Amorim's starting right wing-back, possessing all the qualities that his Portuguese compatriot wants from his full-backs.
Able to come inside with the ball of stay high and wide, Dalot was arguably United's best player in Ten Hag's final year as manager, and we don't expect him to lose his place when Amorim comes into the hot seat.
CDM - Manuel Ugarte
The transfer window may have shut less than three months ago, but many are already calling Manuel Ugarte's move to Man United a failed one.
That's definitely premature though, and we expect the ex-PSG man to thrive playing under a manager who helped him break out whilst at Sporting Lisbon together.
Ugarte is a destroyer in the middle of the park, with Amorim liking that type of midfielder, and we expect him to trust his former player from the off should he get the job.
CDM - Kobbie Mainoo
Along with a destroyer, Amorim likes a midfielder who can get on the ball and control the game, and we expect Kobbie Mainoo to be the man trusted to play that role.
He may be inexperienced, but Mainoo lives and breathes United and has all the skills needed to make it as a top player for the Red Devils for years to come.
With two wing-backs either side of him and three defenders behind him, Mainoo will have team mates around him to handle the defensive work, allowing him to focus on progressing the ball.
LWB - Luke Shaw
As soon as he's back fit, we expect Luke Shaw to be back in the starting XI now that Amorim is the man trusted to become Man United's next manager.
He has all the qualities Amorim wants in a left wing-back, in the sense that he's top defensively and offensively, with the only issue being whether or not he can stay fit.

RW - Bruno Fernandes
Bruno Fernandes is so much better in the middle of the park, and whilst he could fit in as one of Amorim's defensive midfielders, we expect him to be trusted as the side's right-winger, at least for the first few months.
Bruno will be given the license to cut inside and play as a ten when needed though, with Dalot able to occupy the spot he's vacating on the right-wing.
The club captain has struggled this season, but in there is still one of the Premier League's best players, so Amorim will be eager to get him back playing great football.
LW - Marcus Rashford
When INEOS were interviewing for the new manager role, one of the questions they'll definitely have been asking candidates is how they intend to get the best out of Marcus Rashford.
The Englishman should thrive under Amorim, who likes wingers to stay wide, whilst also asking them to chip in with goals and assists, which Rashford can do when he's playing with confidence.
The good news for Amorim is that, if Rashford can't re-find his form, when Alejandro Garnacho will be waiting in the wings, eager to come on.
ST - Rasmus Hojlund
Rasmus Hojlund is raw and inexperienced, but in the Danish international there's a serious player, and Amorim will be more than aware of that.
Hojlund will thrive playing on the last line, looking to get in behind and on the end of balls form his attacking team mates, wing-backs, and two controlling 6s.
Like with the Rashford/Garnacho duo, Amorim has options too, with Joshua Zirkzee able to come in and play if his manager wants someone to get on the ball and help out defensively.
Ladbrokes also looked at how England could line-up under Thomas Tuchel, with the man Man United reportedly spoke to in the summer about becoming their next manager taking over as England national team boss from January 2025.
