Meet the Arc outsiders that match as many trends as Treve

All eyes will be on one magnificent mare when the cream of European flat horses take to the stalls at Longchamp as Treve flies the Tricolore once more, hunting an unprecedented third successivePrix de L’Arc de Triomphe crown.
Having won so impressively on her last appearance in the Prix Vermeille, they’ll be no shortage of backers throwing their weight behind Criquette Head-Maarek’s wonder horse, given 5/4 favouritism by Ladbrokes.
That’s an industry-high price, but don’t forget any one new to Ladbrokes can get Treve, who has only failed to place once in a 12-race career, at 3/1 to finish in the top three places.
They’ll also be plenty of interest in Derby winners from both sides of the channel in Sunday’s prestigious race, though as you can see from our graphic below, Golden Horn, 6/1, has a very prohibitive draw out wide in 14 of 18 stalls.
Andre Fabre’s colt New Bay splits the aforementioned horses in the betting as 5s, but if you are looking for something a bit livelier, then look no further than Erupt at 16/1 or 66/1-chance Prince Gibralta whose claims are firmer than their prices suggest.
Lightly raced Erupt won on his first four starts this season, culminating in a Group 1 triumph in the Grand Prix de Paris in July, before finishing fourth to New Bay last time, when the ground was far slower than anything he’d won on.
Meanwhile, Prince Gibraltar, seventh in the Arc last year, admittedly has more to find but a return to blinkers saw him win a Group 1, over the 1m4f distance on his last appearance.
