Meet the defender set to boost Aberdeen’s title run in

Aberdeen are looking to boost their defensive ranks ahead of their title run-in with Celtic by taking former Reggina defender Daniel Adejo on loan.

The 26-year-old Nigerian-born defender played over 160 games for the Italian side and was without a club after calling time on his spell with Greek side AEL Kalloni last year.

Adejo can operate in both the centre and the right hand side of the back four and recently impressed in a development league match against Hibernian.

The pacy defender has represented Nigeria at U20 level but in holding an Italian passport could swiftly make a switch to the Ladbrokes Premiership should Dons boss Derek McInnes decide to take up the option.

Aberdeen are currently level on points with Celtic at the top of the table, albeit with the Bhoys having a game in hand.

The Dons are next in league action away to Inverness on February 15 and at 10/11 the visitors are expected to pick up another three points against the Caley Jags.

Thistle can be backed at 3/1, with the draw on at 12/5 but with defensive reinforcement on the horizon and one eye on taking Celtic’s crown backing the Dons to come out on top could prove the value option here.
