City have long been linked with a move for the Dutch defender, and odds of 1/5 says he’s plying his trade at the Etihad next season.
Pep Guardiola’s side have struggled to replace the void left by Vincent Kompany last summer and will be desperate for defensive reinforcements in order to challenge for the Premier League title next season.
Ake will have plenty of suitors to remain in the top-flight this summer, but it looks like Manchester City are the early contenders to win the race for his signature.
The 25-year-old could be available for a cut-price fee given the Cherries’ relegation to the Championship, while there are doubts over the long-term futures of Nicolas Otamendi and John Stones at City.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “Bournemouth will hold out for a hefty fee but that won’t be a problem for Man City who look destined to add more defensive firepower to their ranks in the coming weeks.”
