The first Premier League managerial departure of the season did not take long and Bournemouth have acted swiftly in sacking Scott Parker.
Saturday’s 9-0 thrashing by Liverpool proved to be his last game, with Parker and the board clearly disagreeing over the club’s transfer policy since returning to the top flight.
With Parker gone, we have taken a look at the next Bournemouth manager odds and assessed the chances of the leading contenders plus some of the more interesting outsiders.
Sean Dyche
While ever he is out of work, Dyche will seemingly be the favourite for almost every decent job that becomes vacant and the Bournemouth post is no different.
It’s not without good reason to be fair, having previously taken Burnley into Europe and even having a pub in the town named after him.
Bournemouth could not be more different to Burnley, though. Dyche is the kind of bloke that thrives in wearing short sleeves in the middle of winter, not strolling along the beach in the sun, so may not be the right fit for the Cherries.
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 6/4
❄️ Turf Moor is covered in snow, everyone is in coats… but not Sean Dyche.

Gary O’Neil
The first-team coach under Parker has been placed in temporary charge and has little time to prepare for the visit of Wolves on Wednesday night.
A decent run of results could give him a chance of getting the job on a permanent basis and the upcoming fixtures certainly look more favourable than the last three which saw Bournemouth walloped by Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool by an aggregate score of 16-0.
You probably want to start on the defence Gary.
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 6/1
Chris Wilder
Wilder was seen as one of the best English managers around when he guided Sheffield United to the Premier League and then a top-half finish.
Little has gone right since then, though, with the Blades suffering the famous second-season syndrome and being relegated while Wilder is now struggling to make much of an impact at Middlesbrough.
Much like Dyche, he also seems better suited to life in a northern town.
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 8/1
Sam Allardyce
No list of potential managerial candidates would be complete without Big Sam would it?
Since losing the England job almost as soon as he got it, Allardyce has developed a reputation as a specialist in fighting relegation battles.

He has been without a managerial job since leaving West Brom last summer – he didn’t even get the Soccer Aid gig – and even he may think the job is too big after the way Bournemouth conceded nine at Anfield on Saturday.
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 8/1
Harry Redknapp
If any job can tempt ‘Arry to return to management then surely this is the one.
He spent four years at Bournemouth as a player in the 1970s and was manager in the 1980s before going on to bigger and better things.
Redknapp stated he had retired from management when he left Birmingham in 2017 but there’s a deadline day looming. Could we see him leaning out of his car window once more?!
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 20/1
Neil Warnock
Another managerial legend who is officially retired, Warnock is more of an EFL promotion specialist than a relegation battler.
He has struggled to say no to jobs in the past and at the age of 73 he would not look out of place among the usual Bournemouth tourists on the promenade.
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 20/1

Jack Wilshere
The former England midfielder had two spells as a player at Bournemouth as his career started to head in the wrong direction so clearly enjoyed his time on the south coast.
Since hanging up his boots, he has taken over as Arsenal Under-18s coach so is obviously looking to move into management but may not be ready for the Bournemouth job just yet.
Next Bournemouth manager odds: 50/1
