Next James Bond odds: The current favourites
Published:
The latest 'next James Bond odds' released by Ladbrokes have revealed a big change at the head of the betting, with Aaron Taylor-Johnson the favourite once again.
With Amazon acquiring 'creative control' of the Bond franchise in a deal worth $1billion, many speculated that the March 2025's Oscars ceremony could see an announcement as to who the next 007 is going to be.
However, the ceremony came and went and fans are still none-the-wiser as to who is going to replace Craig in one of the world's most famous movie roles.
Filming for the movie, which is set to be released by the end of 2027, has reportedly been 'fast-tracked' so perhaps we'll begin to hear more about who the next Bond is going to be very soon.
Next James Bond odds
Theo James favourite to be the next James Bond
As noted, Taylor-Johnson as the new favourite in the race to replace James Bond, according to Ladbrokes.
Having been as big as 7/2 earlier this month, the bookies now make Taylor-Johnson just 5/4 to play 007 next, leapfrogging Henry Cavill and Theo James in the process.
As things stand, Theo James is 5/2 second-favourite for the iconic role, while former frontrunner Henry Cavill is now a 7/2 shot.
Elsewhere, the only other names priced at 10/1 or shorter to become the next 007 are James Norton and Jack Lowden.
Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: "It's all change once again in the James Bond betting with familiar face, Aaron Taylor-Johnson now leading the way once again to replace Daniel Craig."
Above are the odds for the nine front-runners to become the next 007, all of whom are priced at 20/1 or shorter.
Tom Holland a surprise contender to become James Bond
Best known for playing Spider-Man, Holland's odds of being the next 007 were slashed dramatically from 50/1 to 16/1 after it was announced that Spider-Man producer Amy Pascal will be one of the producers of the next Bond flick.
However, Holland's odds are back up to 33/1, suggesting that despite a brief glimmer of hope, the bookies still think that Holland is a major longshot to be selected as the next 007.
The other producer is Wizarding World supremo David Heyman, but a sensational broomstick-DB5 switch doesn’t look to be in Daniel Radcliffe’s future, with his odds of being the next Bond also at 33/1.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “Spidey suit, dinner suit, what’s the difference? Tom Holland has proved he can fill big shoes before, and with a producer he knows well on board for James Bond, he could soon be swapping one iconic character for another."
David Beckham to become James Bond
David Beckham would make a great James Bond, according to 35% of the Brits surveyed by Ladbrokes.
Beckham turned 50 on 2 May, and as part of a survey commissioned by the bookies to celebrate Golden Balls’ golden anniversary, Ladbrokes asked 1,000 members of the public whether they think he would make a great James Bond.
Those who believe he’ll swap his chainmail and sword from King Arthur for a dinner suit and vodka martini can get 77/1. Theo James is the 5/2 frontrunner to succeed Daniel Craig.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “We’re not sure whether he’ll be swapping No. 7 for 007 anytime soon, but our survey shows that a significant chunk of Brits believe that DavidBeckham would make a great Bond.”
