Next Southampton manager odds: Championship boss is odds-on

A current Championship boss is seen as the most likely candidate to take over the Saints according to the latest next Southampton manager odds.
Less than 24 hours after becoming the first Premier League side in history to be relegated with seven games to go, Southampton confirmed that Ivan Juric has left his post as manager.
Simon Rusk has been tasked with taking over as interim boss for the remainder of the season, with former Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana to serve as his assistant, but Ladbrokes already has odds on the Saints' next permanent manager.

Danny Rohl is odds-on with Ladbrokes to succeed Juric as Southampton manager.
The Sheffield Wednesday boss is the big favourite for the St Mary’s hotseat after Juric left the club on April 7 following Saints’ relegation to the Championship the day prior.
Liam Rosenior, whose Strasbourg team find themselves in the fight for a Champions League spot, is the second-favourite, while other names in the frame include interim player-assistant coach Lallana and former Luton boss Rob Edwards.
Cal Gildart of Ladbrokes said: “They’ve had a historically dismal season, but Southampton will be hoping to put that behind them and get on a roll on their return to the Championship. The odds suggest that the Sheffield Wednesday boss is the only person they want in the dugout.”
The aim for Rusk and Lallana will be ensuring that Southampton don't go down as the worst side in Premier League history, with the Saints needing just two points from their remaining seven games to surpass Derby's tally from the 2007/08 season.
In their next game, Southampton travel to East London to face a West Ham side who are coming off the back of a 2-1 loss to Liverpool at Anfield, and that game takes place on Saturday, April 19.
