Men's PGA world rankings: Who is world No1?

1. Scottie Scheffler

Scottie Scheffler's dominant position at the top of the world rankings was boosted by his PGA Championship victory, with his third Major win of his career taking his average to 18.3 points.

His consistent performances, including a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics and multiple PGA Tour victories, underscore his status as the world's leading golfer.

2. Rory McIlroy

McIlroy holds the second spot with an average of 11.2 points despite a disappointing showing at the PGA Championship.

His recent triumph at the Masters completed his Career Grand Slam, and he has now set his sights on The Open at Royal Portrush, aiming to secure a second Claret Jug.

3. Xander Shauffele

With an average of 7.4 points, Xander Schauffele remains a formidable presence in the top three. His victory at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon solidified his reputation as a major contender.

The American is currently the nearest outsider to McIlroy and Scheffler to take home the Claret Jug at Royal Portrush.

4. Collin Morikawa

Collin Morikawa has climbed to fourth place with an average of 6.3 points.

His consistent top-10 finishes and a runner-up position at the 2024 Tour Championship highlight his steady form as he seeks a third Major title in 2025.

5. Justin Thomas

Justin Thomas has risen into the top five courtesy of his victory at the RBC Heritage which leaves him on an average of 6.1 points.

The emotional victory at Harbour Town Golf Links has catapulted the American back into contention for the Major honours and continues a strong run of form in 2025.

6. Russell Henley

Russell Henley has quietly put together a stellar season, climbing from outside the top 30 into the top 10.

Known for his precision approach shots and steely putting, he’s emerging as one of 2025’s most reliable performers with an average of 5.0 so far.

7. Sepp Straka

The Austrian has taken a major leap this year, with multiple podium finishes and two tournament wins taking his average to 4.9.

His game is trending upward, and he’s proven he can compete with - and beat - the game’s elite under pressure.

8. Ludvig Aberg

Ludwig Aberg, with an average of 5.1 points, continues to impress in his early professional career.

The Swedish sensation's three runner-up finishes in 2024, including at the Masters, have demonstrated his potential to break through with a Major victory this year and the 25-year-old's top-10 finish at The Masters show he is set to remain a contender.

Aberg's strong form bodes well for Team Europe's hopes of defending the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York in September.

9. Hideki Matsuyama

Former Masters winner Hideki Matsuyama remains Japan’s top hope and a staple in the OWGR top 10.

His all-around game - anchored by world-class ball striking - has earned him another strong campaign, including multiple top-5s in 2025.

10. Bryson DeChambeau

A polarising figure but undeniably gifted, Bryson DeChambeau is the only member of the top 10 to be part of the controversial LIV Golf tour thanks to a runner-up finish at the PGA Championship and a win on the LIV circuit.

The American's power-first approach is again yielding big results with an average of 4.4 impressive given the lack of weight wins on the LIV Golf tour currently hold.

Ladbrokes also has an explainer bringing you all the dates, venues, odds and favourite of every golf Major this year, including The Open and the Ryder Cup.

Why aren't there many LIV Golfers included in this list?

LIV Golf players, including Bryson De Chambeau and John Rahm, struggle to compete with PGA golfers in the Official World Golf Ranking (OWGR) because their league's format and structure don't meet the OWGR's criteria for awarding ranking points.

Who are the current holders of the Majors titles?

Scottie Scheffler currently holds the PGA Championship with Xander Schauffele winning last year's Open title. Bryson DeChambeau is the current US Open champion, with Rory McIlroy winning the most recent Masters.
