Ladbrokes looks through the current top five in the men's official world rankings and reveals who is the current world No1.
Scottie Scheffler took the second Major of 2025 after storming to victory at the PGA Championship at Quail Hollow.
As the huge events come thick and fast, Ladbrokes looks at who currently tops the world rankings and who else makes the top five.
Men's PGA world rankings: Who is world No1?
1. Scottie Scheffler
Scottie Scheffler's dominant position at the top of the world rankings was boosted by his PGA Championship victory, with his third Major win of his career taking his average to 18.3 points.
His consistent performances, including a gold medal at the 2024 Olympics and multiple PGA Tour victories, underscore his status as the world's leading golfer.
2. Rory McIlroy
McIlroy holds the second spot with an average of 11 points despite a disappointing showing at the PGA Championship.
His recent triumph at the Masters completed his Career Grand Slam, and he has now set his sights on The Open at Royal Portrush, aiming to secure a second Claret Jug.
3. Xander Shauffele
With an average of 7.3 points, Xander Schauffele remains a formidable presence in the top three. His victory at the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon solidified his reputation as a major contender.
The American is currently the nearest outsider to McIlroy and Scheffler to take home the Claret Jug at Royal Portrush.
5. Justin Thomas
Justin Thomas has risen into the top five courtesy of his victory at the RBC Heritage which leaves him on an average of 6.1 points.
The emotional victory at Harbour Town Golf Links has catapulted the American back into contention for the Major honours and continues a strong run of form in 2025.
6. Collin Morikawa
Collin Morikawa has climbed to fourth place with an average of 6.1 points.
His consistent top-10 finishes and a runner-up position at the 2024 Tour Championship highlight his steady form as he seeks a third Major title in 2025.
6. Russell Henley
Russell Henley has quietly put together a stellar season, climbing from outside the top 30 into the top 10.
Known for his precision approach shots and steely putting, he’s emerging as one of 2025’s most reliable performers with an average of 5.1 so far.
7. Keegan Bradley
Keegan Bradley’s victory at the 2025 Travelers Championship vaulted him to a career-high 7th in the world rankings, reaffirming his resurgence on the PGA Tour.
The win also reignited discussion around him potentially becoming a rare Ryder Cup playing captain at Bethpage, a role not seen since 1963.
Bradley has said he’ll only play if he qualifies on points, but his current form makes that a real possibility.
8. J.J. Spaun
J.J. Spaun's extraordinary victory at the US Open has catapulted him into the limelight and indeed the top 10.
The American's previous best effort at a Major was finishing 35th at the 2018 PGA Championship but he negotiated the notoriously difficult Oakmont course, sealing the deal with a long-range put on the 18th hole to seal a memorable win.
Spaun will have the chance to improve on his 4.8 average as he prepares to compete in the Traveller's Championship this weekend.
9. Sepp Straka
The Austrian has taken a major leap this year, with multiple podium finishes and two tournament wins taking his average to 4.8.
His game is trending upward, and he’s proven he can compete with - and beat - the game’s elite under pressure.
10. Viktor Hovland
Viktor Hovland has remained solid among the world’s best, notching wins like the Valspar Championship and consistent top finishes.
Though not yet a Major champion, he's steadily building his case as a potential breakthrough contender and sits just a whisker outside the Top 5.
11. Ludvig Aberg
Ludwig Aberg, with an average of 4.7 points, continues to impress in his early professional career but has slipped just outside the top 10.
The Swedish sensation's three runner-up finishes in 2024, including at the Masters, have demonstrated his potential to break through with a Major victory this year and the 25-year-old's top-10 finish at The Masters show he is set to remain a contender.
Aberg's strong form bodes well for Team Europe's hopes of defending the Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black in Farmingdale, New York in September.
