Osasuna in store for a spanking from vengeful Real Madrid
Published:The Copa del Rey train continues to rumble through the heart of Spain, as Real Madrid do battle in the Bernabeu with the Pamplona-based Osasuna in the first leg of their round of 16 tie.
Both teams returned to action after the winter break with victories, but Osasuna’s form, specifically on the road, leaves them with next to no chance to win the game.
Madrid, who’ve won three games on the bounce and are undefeated in 13 outings in all competitions, are the hefty 1/9 favourites for the clash, with Osasuna valued at 19/1 and a share of the spoils priced at 8/1.
Considering Madrid’s lengthy unbeaten streak, and their opponent’s lack of one – Osasuna have won just twice in their last nine matches and once in six away from home – there’s little value in taking a plunge into the match betting market.
There is, however, some money to be made in the goal markets, as meetings between these two in Madrid tend to contain a flurry of them.
In the last four matches to be played under the Bernabeu’s lights, there’s been a 4-2, 7-1 and a 3-2 penned into the history books.
The 13/20 on there being four or more goals therefore looks ripe for the taking, with Madrid’s recent home scoring record, where they’ve notched less than two goals just once in 13 attempts, adding serious weight to the bet’s likelihood.
Osasuna have been hit for two or more goals seven times in their 10 away games and had their card marked for revenge in the eyes of Los Blancos when they held Carlo Ancelotti’s side to a draw earlier in the season.
But for those looking for a more lengthily priced, goal-based punt, it’s 13/2 that the games contains exactly six goals, while seven or more is available as a 6/1 shot.
