Paul Townend: We are fit, ready to go and this horse will run a big race

Ladbrokes ambassador Paul Townend has just one ride on Saturday and he spoke to us about Easy Game’s prospects in the Grade 2 PWC Champion Chase at Gowran Park.
Easy Game has been a star horse for the Willie Mullins’ stable. He disappointed in the Galway Plate but before that he had a lot of ones beside his name. I am looking forward to riding him.
We have just had a lot of rain around this part of the country so that will probably be against him, along with the hard task of taking on the returning Envoi Allen for Henry De Bromhead and Rachael Blackmore.
Obviously his record speaks for itself. He won the Ryanair Chase at the Cheltenham Festival last season, as well as the Ladbrokes Champion Chase at Down Royal.
However, I am hoping that the fitness edge will play to our strengths. We are fit and ready to go. He loves small fields, he enjoys going around Gowran and I think he will run a big race. As I said, the ground is just a little concern.
It is an exciting time of year to see some of these bigger names coming back out and hopefully we can give them something to think about.
