Ladbrokes ambassador Paul Townend gave us the lowdown on his two runners at Listowel on Saturday afternoon, the final day of the Harvest Festival.

Ninth Loch – 1.35 Listowel

I have two rides at Listowel, starting with Ninth Loch. At Killarney last month, he was runner-up to Gordon Elliott’s The Wallpark who went on on to give that form a massive boost by winning the Novice Hurdle on Wednesday. The benefit of the run over hurdles will strengthen him a lot and I think he will take a lot of beating. He only narrowly missed out in Killarney.

Joseph O’Brien’s JP McManus-runner, Good Heavens, will give us the most to do. He brings a good level of flat form, but I am hoping my horse can build from his first run. I think he is my best ride today.

High Class Hero – 2.10 Listowel

I have chosen to ride High Class Hero in the Novice Hurdle. I just like the way he won at Galway and think he is going the right way. He won a bumper around here last year and earlier this year so he has a liking for the track.

It wasn’t an easy decision between him and What Path who was just touched off in a Novice Hurdle at the Galway Festival. We were a bit unlucky that day and didn’t get a good run up the straight. Another day he would have won. However, the 5lbs I am getting off What Path, swung me in the favour of High Class Hero.
