Paul Townend: Allegorie De Vassy my best chance on Easter Saturday

Three-time Gold Cup winner and Ladbrokes ambassador Paul Townend is back in action on Easter weekend and spoke to us about Saturday’s three rides at Fairyhouse in the build-up to Monday’s Irish Grand National.
She was just touched off at Cheltenham but doesn’t take on Impervious here. She didn’t do anything wrong at the festival, she was just beaten. She jumped pretty well and straight that day. She does tend to jump right, so back right-handed will suit her.
I am really looking forward to riding her. On ratings, it looks a very winnable opportunity for her. All is positive and she is my standout ride of the day by far.

He pulled up at Cheltenham but the drop back into handicap company could help him. He gained plenty of experience because it took him a while to win a maiden. I think he has enough experience for this. He seems to be reasonably handicapped and should give a good account of himself if you can forgive him for his very poor run at Cheltenham.
Running so badly could stand to him. He pulled up and probably didn’t have a hard race. Taking him out reasonably soon isn’t a worry for him.
Being realistic, he is probably well exposed. He had a very good run behind Gaelic Warrior at the Dublin Racing Festival. He had a poor run at Cheltenham but back to two miles will suit him.
Even though he is exposed, he runs to a high level all the time. A lot of things will have to go right for him, like the ground drying out would be a big help for example. If he has a bit of luck, he will hit the frame again.
