Paul Townend: I am on the best one with Lossiemouth
Published:Ladbrokes ambassador Paul Townend previews his three rides at the Punchestown Festival on Saturday.
I have jumped ship from Brandy Love at Cheltenham. There was very little between them that day. It wasn’t an easy choice but Echoes In Rain is a Grade 1 winner around this track as a novice. Going right-handed doesn’t play to Brandy Love’s strengths. On ratings she has 5lbs to find with her.
I could be on the wrong one. I found it very hard to split them. Brandy Love is possibly entitled to more improvement. Love Envoi sets the standard on Cheltenham form. I am hoping my horse can settle and her form with Honeysuckle at this meeting last year was very good. It is a track she runs well at.
I am back on Lossiemouth. She was so impressive at Cheltenham and she has beaten all these bar Gala Marceau. There isn’t a lot between them but I think I am on the best one. Everything has been good with her since Cheltenham and I am sure she can finish off her season in the best style possible.

Willie [Mullins] has plenty of runners in here. I thought Heia has promised a lot more than she has actually produced. Her run at Fairyhouse was to a good level. She looked to get involved but got tired late on. She drops back a couple of furlongs here and hopefully if she can build on that she will go close. I think she is unexposed and hasn’t fulfilled her potential yet and I have taken a chance on that.
