With the 2024/25 Premier League now half-way through, Ladbrokes takes you through Brentford's squad, their chances of not getting relegated next campaign, and their starting line-up looks like.

Brentford have established themselves as a useful Premier League side since getting promoted at the end of the 2020/21 season, and they'll be hoping to continue that by making even more positive steps this season.

It was a bit of a weird summer for Brentford, as despite fears over losing both Thomas Frank and Ivan Toney, their manager has stayed put whilst the top striker left the club.

Ladbrokes takes you through Brentford's squad for the Premier League season, what their starting line-up has looked like, and their odds of remaining in the division.

The big confirmed signing for Brentford this summer is Igor Thiago, with the Brazilian striker joining from Club Brugge in Belgium.

The forward was actually signed mid-way through the 2023/24 season, likely with the thought being that Brentford would lose Toney in the summer window, which happened as he left for Al-Ahli in Saudi Arabia.

Also joining to bolster Frank's squad are Fabio Carvalho and Sepp van ben Berg, who ends their mixed spell at Liverpool by signing for Brentford on permanent deals this summer. Jayden Meghoma also signed with an eye to the future, this time from Southampton.

As for the other signings Brentford have made, Julian Eyestone has joined the club as a youth prospect in goal, potentially able to come in if and when Mark Flekken is unable to play.

Gustavo Nunes has also joined from Gremio in Brazil. While the 18-year-old can play immediately, he's very much seen as one for the future.

David Raya's loan move to Arsenal was made permanent this summer, with Thomas Strakosha, the club's back-up goalkeeper last season, also leaving on a permanent deal to AEK Athens in Greece.

Ellery Balcombe moved to St Mirren on loan, and Daniel Oyegoke left for Herts, whilst Charlie Goode, Saman Ghoddos and Shandon Baptiste all departed at the expiration of their contracts. Myles Peart-Harris has also rejoined Swansea, but only on a temporary loan deal, and will be able to return to Brentford before the beginning of next season. Frank Onyeka also left late in the window, joining Augsburg on loan in Germany.

As for other departures, Ben Winterbottom has left for AFC Flyde on loan, with Tristian Camara also leaving for Exeter for the forthcoming season on a temporary deal. Fin Stevens and Zanka have left permanently however, joining St Pauli and Anderlecht respectively.

Brentford's 2024/25 starting XI

Whilst Brentford have shown themselves to be tactically versatile, it's pretty clear that Frank was always going to continue to change his side up either in a 4-2-3-1 or a 5-2-3 shape, especially considering the forward talent he now has to work with.

Flekken is the starting keeper for the season, with Keane Lewis-Potter playing at left-back with Aaron Hickey and Rico Lewis unable put their injury woes behind him.

The centre-halves are two of Nathan Collins, Ben Mee, Kristoffer Ajer and Ethan Pinnock, with Sepp van den Berg playing a fair portion of the season at full-back with Henry and Hickey missing due to injury.

The midfield two sees Vitaly Janelt, Christian Norgaard, Josh Dasilva and Mathias Jensen trade minutes, with Mikel Damsgaard able to come in and play more centrally.

The front-line sees Yoanne Wissa and Bryan Mbuemo start, alongside Kevin Schade, with Fabio Carvalho having to patiently wait for minutes following his move to the Bees.

Brentford's Premier League odds

The bookies have given Brentford a 99.5% chance of beating the drop and remaining in the Premier League, which will come as music to the ears of the club's fans and players.

Interestingly, the bookies have Man City at 12/1 to get relegated from the Premier League next season, but many feel that's because of a potential points deduction that could come their way after the case looking into their 115 charges concludes.

The the bookies have given Brentford a 0.4% and 3% chance respectively of finishing in the Champions League places and the top six.

The favourites to win the Premier League are Liverpool, who are seen as more likely to lift England's top prize than Arsenal and even Pep Guardiola's Man City.
