Now the 2024/25 Premier League season is mid-way through, Ladbrokes takes you through Crystal Palace's squad, their chances of getting into Europe and what their starting XI has been.

Oliver Glasner has embarked on his first full season as Crystal Palace managing, having turned his side into one of the in-form teams in the league after taking over mid-way through the 2023/24 campaign.

Glasner did so well that clubs like Bayern Munich approached the board to try and bring him to their clubs to take over, but he's remained at Selhurst Park, and will have ambitions of taking Palace into Europe.

Crystal Palace 2024 signings

The big news of the summer 2024 window for Crystal Palace is that Michael Olise and Joachim Andersen have left for Bayern Munich and Fulham respectively, but that doesn't mean that the club haven't had a pretty sucessful summer.

Daichi Kamada joins on a free from Lazio, having already played for Glasner at Frankfurt, with Chadi Riad formerly of Barcelona also being brought to the club from Real Betis as defensive cover.

To replace the outgoing Olise, Glasner has brought in ex-Watford winger Ismaila Sarr from Marseille, with the winger also able to play at wing-back if needed.

Young talents Louie Moulden, Kurai Musanhi and Jemiah Umolu join as a free agents and from West Ham respectively, but they're expected to work with the youth teams, rather than being immediately brought into the first-team with the likes of Eberi Eze and Adam Wharton.

Late in the window, Palace were busy, bringing in Eddie Nketiah from Arsenal and Maxence Lacroix from Wolfsburg on permanent deals, and Trevoh Chalobah and Matt Turner from Chelsea and Nottingham Forest on loan deals.

Along with Olise and Andersen, Jordan Ayew has left for Leicester, Kofi Balmer has joined Motherwell and Scott Banks has left for St Pauli in Germany, whilst Malachi Boateng has signed for Hearts from the Eagles.

Sam Johnstone has also departed, leaving for Wolves to replace Jose Sa when it became clear that Palace would be continuing with Dean Henderson as its number one for the season.

Also leaving but staying in the Premier League is Odsonne Edouard, who signs for Leicester on loan. Naouirou Ahamada has also departed on loan, but will be playing in France for Rennes this season.

James Tomkins and Nathan Ferguson joined Jairo Riedewald in leaving at the end of their contracts, with Owen Goodman, Joe Whitworth, Tayo Adaramola, Killian Phillips, Jesurun Rak-Sakyi. Ademola Ola-Adebomi, Danny Imray and David Ozoh all completing loan moves to Wimbledon, Exeter, Bromley, St Mirren, Sheffield United, SK Beveren, Stockport County and Derby respectively.

Crystal Palace's 2024/25 starting XI

Things could change now that Olise has left the club, but considering how well last season ended, it'd be surprising to see Glasner line up with another other than his trusted 3-4-3 next season.

In goal, it'll be Henderson once again, with a back-five of Tyrick Mitchell, Daniel Munoz, Marc Guehi, two of Chalobah, Lacroix, Riad and Chris Richards.

Adam Wharton should be a starter now in his first full season at Palace, playing alongside Cheick Doucoure when his fit to return to regular action, or Will Hughes.

The front-three should be Jean-Philipe Mateta as the striker following his quality end to the season alongside Nketiah, with Eze behind them having stayed at the club despite interest from from Tottenham, Arsenal, Liverpool and even Man City.

Crystal Palace's Premier League odds

Palace have been given basically no chance finishing inside the top four by the bookies and earning a spot in the 2025/26 Champions League, which would have been a fantastic achievement for Glasner and co.

That's not all, as the bookies also feel that Palace have little to no chance of sneaking into the top six, which West Ham managed to to do just over two years ago.

Thankfully for Palace, the bookies think they've got more than a 99% at beating the drop and remaining in the Premier League, with those odds being not too far off what's been given to Man City, who could be docked points for alleged financial wrongdoing.

City are, however, still one of the favourites to win the 2024/25 Premier League, with worse odds than Arsenal and the current league leaders, Arne Slot's Liverpool
