Now the 2024/25 Premier League season is mid-way through, Ladbrokes takes you through Everton's squad, their chances of staying in the division next year, and what their starting line-up has been.
Despite being hit with two points deductions last season, Everton managed to beat the drop and remain in the Premier League, impressing fans across the country with their resilience and quality.
In what is their last season at Goodison Park before they move to their state of the art stadium, and with their financial issues hopefully in the rear view mirror, Everton are hoping to continue to make positive steps in the forthcoming campaign.
With all that said, Ladbrokes takes you through Everton's squad for the current Premier League season, what their starting XI has looked like, and their odds of staying in the division.

Everton 2024 transfers
Everton fans went into the summer window somewhat worried, given the club's final issues, but Sean Dyche and the board have managed to make some impressive signings.
There was a worry that Jarrad Branthwaite would leave the club in the summer, with Man United the main club interested, but the highly-rated defender will likely be staying at Everton this summer in what is fantastic news for Dyche and co.
Amadou Onana did leave the club though, joining Aston Villa in a deal worth £50m. Also leaving Everton for Villa was Lewis Dobbin, with Tim Iroegbunam going the other way.
Omari Benjamin and Asmir Begavoic have joined the club on a free transfer, whilst Jack Harrison's loan move from Leeds United was extended for another season after impressing last campaign.

Jake O'Brien, who was on Crystal Palace's books up until last summer, has joined to provide even more depth at the back, having only joined Lyon in France last year. Also signing from Lyon is Orel Mangala, but the midfielder's move is only a temporary loan.
That wasn't the end of Everton's business with Lyon though, as moments are signing Francis Gomez from Sporting Supreme, the midfielder was loaned out to the French club.
Jesper Lindstrom, who is actually a Liverpool fan, has joined the club on loan from Napoli in Serie A, having struggled massively in Italy following his move from Frankfurt in the summer of 2023. Also signing on loan is Armando Broja, who joins from Chelsea for the season.
In what is probably Everton's biggest signing of the window, Iliman Ndiaye joins Marseille, with the former Sheffield United star looking to add some quality to Dyche's attack.
Ben Godfrey leaves the club for Atalanta, with the ex-Norwich defender moving to Italy to play in the Champions League next season. Harry Tyrer has also left the club, but only for Blackpool on loan. Also leaving on loan are Neal Maupay to Marseille, Eli Campbell to Ross County, Jenson Metcalfe to Chesterfield, Billy Crellin to Accrington Stanley and Francis Okoronkwo to Salford.
Andre Gomes and Andy Lonergan have seen their contracts expire, and whilst the same can be said for Dele Alli, there has been talk of bringing the ex-Tottenham man back into the fold for next season.
Everton's 2024/25 starting XI
Unlike some of the other teams we've covered, like Premier League newcomers Ipswich and even Liverpool with new manager Arne Slot, it's quite easy to run down how Everton have and are going to continue to line up.
Dyche's teams almost always line-up in a structured 4-4-1-1 shape, so for Everton, it's Jordan Pickford in goal with Ashley Young, Branthwaite, James Tarkowski and Vitaliy Mykolenko in front of him.
Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson will be able to come in and play as needed, but neither have been fit enough to land regular first team minutes this season. New signing Jake O'Brien will be disappointed with the amount of minutes he's been afforded since joining from Lyon.

The midfield four consists of two of James Garner, Orel Mangala and Idrissa Gueye, especially now that Onana has left the club, with Dwight McNeil, Ndiaye and Harrison two of the wingers flanking them.
Dominic Calvert-Lewin will almost always play when fit, with Beto able to come in when needed. Playing a second striker role just behind him, as he has done for a while now, is Abdoulaye Doucoure.
Everton's 2024/25 odds
Everton were one of the favourites to go down next season, alongside Leicester, Ipswich and Southampton, but the feeling amongst many mid-way through the season is that Moyes and co have enough to stay up.
Interestingly, Man City are at 12/1 to drop down to the Championship by being relegated this season. That, however, is almost definitely because they could be docked points following the resolution of the 115 charges against them, rather than because the bookies think their side is relegation quality.
Liverpool are favourites to win the Premier League, which will most certainly not come as music to the ears of the blue half of Merseyside.

Everton's Premier League 2024/25 fixtures
Everton kicked off their Premier League season on August 17 in Liverpool with a 3-0 loss at home against Brighton. They then played Tottenham away in London in their next game, losing 4-0 in emphatic fashion.
Everton traveled to relegation rivals Leicester on September 21, drawing that game 1-1, before travelling to Ipswich the following month for a game at Portman Road on October 19, which ended in a 2-0 win for Dyche and co.
Southampton then hosted Everton the following month on November 2, with game against their relegation rivals ending in a hard-to-take 1-0 loss.

Man United hosted Everton on November 30, beating the Toffees 4-0. That came before Everton had a game at home against Wolves on December 3, which ended in a surprising 4-0 win.
On December 7, Everton were supposed to play Liverpool in the final every Goodison Park derby, but that game was postponed due to weather concerns. That means that Dyche's side had a good period of rest before travelling to London for a game against Arsenal on December 14, which they drew 0-0.
As if things couldn't get any worse for Dyche (the former manager) and co, they then travelled back to Merseyside to face another London club in the form of Chelsea on December 22, drawing that 0-0, before drawing 1-1 with Man City away from home on Boxing Day.
A game against Spurs came on January 19, ending in a 3-2 win, before Everton drew 2-2 with Man United on February 22. The Anfield edition of the 2024/25 Merseyside Derby takes place on April 2, three days before Everton play Arsenal at Goodison Park.
Ipswich play Everton away on May 3, with the Toffees' final three games of the season being an away trip to Fulham, a home game against Southampton, and on May 25, a trip to Newcastle on the final day of the season.

How can I watch the 2024/25 Premier League season?
Ladbrokes recently looked at the odds for each of the 20 teams competing in the Premier League this season, starting with Man City and working our way down to Ipswich and Southampton, who the bookies have given a 0.13% chance of winning England's top-flight come May 2025.
