The Premier League is set to introduce three divisive new rules for all clubs ahead of the 2025/25 season which kicks off in August of next year.

It's been revealed that the Premier League wants to introduce a set of new rules with regards to media access ahead of next season kicking off, and they're most definitely going to divide opinion.

The move is part of a wider initiative from England's top-flight officials to give fans more of an insight into their favourite teams and players.

The new Premier League rules

The Premier League is introducing new rules all the time, and the latest which could be introduced by the beginning of next season have been leaked by the media.

Sam Curtis, a prominent Manchester United journalist, has said that from next season, clubs could have to offer either a player or the manager for an interview at half-time during games.

That's not all, as his report also claims that the Premier League wants to introduce interviews for players who are subbed off, as well as live broadcasts from the dressing rooms, presumably both before games, at half-time, and at full-time.

Curtis has provided some further clarity to the report, stating that he's of the understanding that the Premier League will allow assistant coaches to be selected for the half-time interview.

That means that if Arne Slot needed to deliver a message at half-time to his Liverpool players for example, one of his assistants would be able to take the interview on and not take him away from the dressing room.

He has also stated that he's of the understanding that clubs will have to chose from one of the three aforementioned options listed above each game.

The news was first reported by Mail Sport, with Curtis describing the proposed changes as 'game-changing media access'.

It's worth noting that the proposed changes haven't been officially confirmed by the Premier League as of yet, with nothing set to be formally introduced until August 2025, when next season's Premier League kicks off.
