Man City 2024 transfers
As for the transfers, Man City confirmed the signing of Savio from Troyes. He was on loan last term at Girona, another of the club's in the City Group. The other incoming sees Ilkay Gundogan return to the club, having spent lats season at Barcelona. City didn't have to pay a penny for their former captain, with the Spanish club needed to free up Gundogan's wages to register the signing of Dani Olmo.

Speaking of Saudi Arabia, after loan moves to Bayern Munich and Barcelona over the last 18 months, Joao Cancelo has joined Al Hilal this summer, this time on a permanent basis.
The club have also let go of Julian Alvarez though to Atletico Madrid, with the 2022 World Cup winner leaving for Spain in a mega deal worth over £80m.
As for the other major outgoing, Kalvin Phillips has joined Premier League newcomers Ipswich on loan for the season, but there's said to be no purchase clause in that move.
Man City's 2024/25 starting XI
As for the starting XI, Ederson is usually the starting keeper, but Stefan Ortega has come in when Guardiola fancies making a change. Injuries have hampered what he's able to do in terms of his backline, but Josko Gvardiol and Rico Lewis have been his most trusted full-backs this season, with Ruben Dias, John Stones, Manuel Akanji and Nathan Ake rotating in the centre of defence depending on who's fit.
As for the midfield, Rodri was set to play as the deepest midfielder, but he's expected to be out for the whole season with a bad knee injury. Phil Foden has started the season slowly, and Kevin De Bruyne has been impacted by injury meaning that Ilkay Gundogan, Bernardo Silva and Mateo Kovacic have been playing more than Pep will likely have wanted.
Silva has played on the wing for parts, as has Foden, with Savio, Jack Grealish and Jeremy Doku coming in as and when needed. Erling Haaland leads the line once again, as expected, with City having no other senior striker within the squad.

Man City's Premier League odds
Man City were once again one of the favourites to be crowned Premier League champions come the end of next season. However, after a poor campaign, they're now priced behind Arsenal, who have come second in both of the last two seasons, as well Liverpool, the latter of whom lead the way heading into the final few weeks.
City's odds increased significantly following the aforementioned injury to Rodri, with the bookies clearly thinking that the loss of the Spanish midfielder has made Guardiola's job of retaining the title much harder. However, they were installed as favourites once again after Arsenal's loss to Bournemouth on October 19.
Despite that, back-to-back-to-back losses to Bournemouth, Brighton and Tottenham saw Liverpool made favourites, with many viewing the Premier League this season now as the Reds' to lose.
Interestingly, however, City have been given odds of 12/1 to get relegated from the Premier League next season, with shorter odds than the likes of West Ham and Crystal Palace.
The bookies aren't suggesting that City's performances on the field will see them relegated, but they've been given those odds because their 115 charges could see them face a significant points penalty, which could in turn see them fighting for a place in England's top-flight.
Man City's Premier League 2024/25 fixtures
Man City kickedc off the 2024/25 season with the Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on August 10, where they played the team who beat them in the FA Cup final this year, Man United. The Cityzens won that game, seeing off their city rivals on penalties.
Their Premier League campaign saw them face Chelsea in the opening game on August 18, which they won 2-0, with a 4-1 win against Ipswich next up for them.
They faced Arsenal at home on September 22, with that game ending in a 2-2 draw thanks to a late goal from Stones. That came before City hosted Spurs on November 23, losing 4-0, which in turn came before a trip to Anfield to face Liverpool on December 1, which ended in a 2-0 loss. City then lost to Man United 2-1 at the Etihad on December 15.

As we enter 2025, they beat Chelsea 3-1 on January 25 at home, before travelling to London a few days later to face Arsenal on February 1, where they convincingly lost 5-1.
A 4-0 win against Newcastle on February 15 gave a glimmer of hope for City ahead of two big games to Liverpool and Tottenham in the 10 days that follow, which ended in a 2-0 loss and a 1-0 win.
An away trip to Man United takes place as we enter the run-in on April 5, before Man City finish their 2024/25 campaign with games against Southampton away, Bournemouth at home, and Fulham at Craven Cottage in what is the final game of the season.
