Premier League Picks: Palace and Saints to get vital wins

Published:

The spotlight will be on the relegation battle in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.

Southampton and West Bromwich Albion both desperately need points to give them a chance of surviving. And Huddersfield Town and Crystal Palace know that a win could make all the difference.

We’ve looked over the form guide to come up with tips for all of Saturday’s 3pm Prem games…

Burnley v Brighton & Hove Albion

Brighton should be safe now in 13th place. And without that desperation to survive, it’s hard to see them coming away from Turf Moor with the win.

Burnley haven’t lost at home to side outside the top six in league action since August. They’re 6/5 to get all three points.

The Clarets haven’t kept a clean sheet at home so far in 2018 though. Burnley and Both Teams to Score is 17/4.

It’s worth bearing in mind that the last four clashes between these two have ended with honours even. The draw is going for 2/1. Burnley or Draw is 2/7 too.

Crystal Palace v Leicester City

One more win could be enough for Crystal Palace to seal their Premier League status. And they’re evens to get it against a Leicester team with little at stake.

There have been at least three goals in three consecutive games involving these sides. Over 2.5 Goals is 4/5 this time around.

Wilfried Zaha could be the main man for Palace. The winger has three in three and is 13/8 to score again here.

But the Eagles will need to keep an eye on Jamie Vardy. The England man has scored in six of his last seven starts for club and country. You can get 7/5 on him keeping it up with a goal Anytime.

Huddersfield Town v Everton

Neither side come into this in great form. Huddersfield are one a run of just two wins in 11 home games. And Everton have lost four of their last six away games.

The Terriers’ need for the points could push them to get a crucial 6/4 home win.

If David Wagner’s side are going to get the win they need, Aaron Mooy will be key. The playmaker is 17/20 to make 58+ passes.

But this isn’t likely to be one for the neutrals. Both teams have seen Under 2.5 Goals in their last three outings. It’s 1/2 that the pattern continues here.

Southampton v Bournemouth

The onus is on Southampton in this South Coast derby. They’re 18th and four points off safety with just four games to go.

Bournemouth have only won once away from home since November. Southampton are 4/6 to get three big points.

Saints will be encouraged by their recent record against the Cherries. Eddie Howes’ side haven’t scored in any of their last four visits to St. Mary’s. Southampton to Win to Nil is 21/10.

Mark Hughes will be looking to Charlie Austin for a cutting edge in attack. Austin is 4/6 to get a goal.

Newcastle United v West Bromwich Albion

West Brom know that anything less than a win will see them relegated this weekend. Even a win might not be enough if other results go against them.

They’ll take confidence from a run of three games without defeat under caretaker boss Darren Moore. But Newcastle are on a four-game winning run at home. The Baggies are 15/4, but we like the look of a draw at 12/5.

Ayoze Perez is the one to watch here. He’s bagged three goals and set up two more in his last four appearances. The Spaniard is 7/4 to make 1+ assists.
